O'Kane keen to see struggling Armagh make up lost ground
Armagh will face Monaghan in the Lidl Ladies Football National League Division 1 tomorrow against a rather depressing backdrop
The team are anchored at the bottom of the top tier and manager Sean O'Kane accepts that while they are "playing well enough", they need to return to winning ways.
"We need to improve our position if we can as time is not on our side," he maintains.
Despite the best efforts of Aimee Mackin and Caroline O'Hanlon, Armagh lost to Kerry last weekend, 0-11 to 0-9, while Monaghan were pipped by Donegal, 3-12 to 1-17.
In Division 2, Tyrone will seek to come good at the expense of Waterford having fallen to Laois last weekend, while in Division 3 Down face a stiff test against Offaly after losing to Wexford last Sunday.
The Mourne side looked to have turned the corner when they beat Limerick a fortnight ago in Newry, but Wexford's 0-19 to 1-3 victory emphasised the gulf between the teams.
In Division 4, Derry face Carlow, Louth will host Fermanagh and Kilkenny are due to take on Antrim.
Derry fell to Louth last weekend while Fermanagh, in contrast, should enter the fray in good heart having overcome Carlow by 2-9 to 0-1 last Sunday.
