INM is the leading newspaper and online publisher on the island of Ireland, is vertically integrated with print and distribution assets, and is the largest wholesale distributor of newspapers and magazines on the island. The Group is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland and is quoted on the Irish and London Stock Exchanges.
Print and publishing
INM brands are household names in Ireland, with the Irish Independent, Sunday Independent, The Herald, Sunday World, Belfast Telegraph, Sunday Life and The Star, all market leaders in their segments. Our thirteen weekly regional newspapers – which include the Drogheda Independent, Wexford People, The Kerrryman and The Sligo Champion – are published in counties Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, and Sligo.
These titles achieve a combined average sale of 1.3 million copies per week and reach 2.4 million readers per week across print and online. In the Republic of Ireland, INM is the clear leader in newspaper publishing and accounts for over 50% of the quality daily market and over 65% of the quality Sunday market.
In September 2016, INM announced the acquisition of seven regional newspapers from Celtic Media Group. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
Digital news platforms
independent.ie and belfasttelegraph.co.uk are the Group’s primary online news portals which compliment our national and regional newspaper titles. They are Ireland’s leading news sites across desktop and mobile. Other news sites include herald.ie and sundayworld.com, as well as a portfolio of individual regional websites.
Independent.ie – Ireland’s number one online news publisher (comScore) – has a global audience of 10.2m unique users per month, and an Irish reach of 5.5m.
Digital classified sites
INM continues to expand its offering of classified websites, including job, property, motor, travel and other classified categories..
Printing Facilities
INM has two printing facilities, one in Dublin, Republic of Ireland and one in Newry, Northern Ireland. These facilities service our owned brands in addition to third party print contracts.
Distribution
Newspread Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of INM and is Ireland’s leading wholesale distributor of newspapers and magazines, delivering daily to its 5,400 plus network of retailers. In addition Newspread distributes books, stationery and other related products to the Irish retail market, providing range management, display and merchandising solutions. More recently, the company has launched a range of consumable products aimed at delicatessens, coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Newspread also operates a home delivery network delivering newspapers and magazines to households across Ireland.
Events
INM is developing a portfolio of events in both the consumer and business to business sectors. Current events include business, sport and lifestyle-related events such as House, Ireland’s interior design event, The Annual Excellence in Property Awards, Sport Star of the Year awards, The Belfast Telegraph’s Business Awards and Dublin’s Infosec.
Magazines
In early 2016, INM acquired four market-leading business and consumer titles from Belfast-based Greer Publications. As a result, our portfolio of print and online titles will be enhanced by the addition of Ulster Business, Ulster Grocer, Northern Women and Hospitality Review NI.
Irish Brides, Ireland’s premier bridal magazine, along with Irishbrides.ie was also acquired as part of our strategy to widen the Group’s reach into digital offerings.
