The Lone Wolf of Yellowstone Park - Documentary Films Full Length
The Gray Wolf, being the largest of the canid family, stands about 26 to 28 inches high at the shoulder for an adult male; a body length of 40 to 58 inches and tail approximately 13 to 20 inches long. The female wolf is roughly 15 to 20 percent smaller. The weight of North American wolves varies between 40 and 175 pounds, with average weights being between 60 to 100 pounds. Despite legends of 200-pound wolves, the heaviest wild wolf only weighed 175 pounds.
The gray wolf has a broad face and appears larger than it really is because of the ruff of fur below the ears. The eyes are usually a golden-yellow and at night shine a greenish orange. Its ears are approximately 2 inches long and the nose as much as 1.5 inches wide.
The wolf's body is built for traveling and its chest is narrow, allowing it to push more easily through the deep winter snows. The coat is thick and fluffy with long guard hairs that repel moisture and a thick wooly undercoat for insulation. The guard hairs may grow to 4 or 5 inches in length. The winter coats are then shed in the spring. The legs are long with oversized feet which act like snowshoes to enable the wolf to travel more easily in the snow.
The color of wolves range from all shades of gray, tan and brown to pure white or solid black, with the Red wolves having reddish coats. The tip of the tail is often black. Many of Canada's high Arctic wolves are creamy in color. White hair shafts have more air pockets than coloration pigment and therefore provide better insulation.
The wolf has extremely strong jaws with a crushing pressure that is twice that of a German Shepherd. The upper jaw has six incisors, two canine teeth, eight premolars and four molars. The lower jaw has six incisors, two canines, eight premolars and six molars. The incisors at the front of the jaw are used to cut flesh from prey. The canines, wich may reach two inches in length, pierce into flesh to hold prey. Premolars and molars are used for slicing and grinding.
The surface sense of smell in a wolf is 14 times that of a human and the degree of sensitivity to smell is 100 times more than the sensitivity of man. They can pick up a scent at least a mile away or more. According to Canadian naturalists, a dog's hearing is about sixteen times that of man. A wolf's hearing is even more acute than that. A wolf can hear as far as six miles away in the forest and ten miles away on the open tundra. Wolves have been known to respond to human imitations of wolf howls from three miles away.
The wolf's sense of sight is relatively poor compared to their smell and hearing. Observations have shown that their sight is at least as acute as that of humans. Naturalists believe that wolves are quite nearsighted and that they can clearly see details up to about 75 feet. However, the wolf's peripheral vision and ability to detect motion is excellent. The outer perimeter of a wolf's retina is extremely sensitive to movement. Their night vision is far superior to that of man's.
Naturalists have found that wolves tend to distinguish the colors red and yellow from other colors. The thinking is that perhaps because of red being the color of blood and yellow being that of urine. In any case, they seem to believe that wolves become more interested in colors that have a reddish base and have a strong ability to detect red from other colors.
Because of disease, parasites, injuries and hard winters of food shortages, wolves in the wild are likely to live less than 5 years. The true enemy of the wolf is man himself. Legal and illegal hunting, collisions with vehicles, trapping or predator control has wiped out a good many of the wolf population. In contrast to that, wolves in captivity can live as long as 18 years. Wolf Haven, near Tenino, Washington, had one wolf that lived to be over the age of 18 and currently has a wolf 17 years of age.

While the diamond and the areas denoted by white painted lines adhere to strict rules, guidelines for the rest of the field are flexible.
The term "ballpark" sometimes refers either to the entire structure, or sometimes to just the playing field. A home run where the player makes it around the bases, and back to home plate, without the ball leaving the playing field is typically called an "inside-the-park" home run. A documentary about a journey to "The Edge of the Earth". The Gates of the Arctic National Park is the northernmost national park in the U.S. (the entirety of the park lies north of the Arctic Circle).There are no established roads, trails, visitor facilities, or campgrounds in the park.
Following the Alatna River you will see an amazing place people rarely see, including the amazing Arrigetch Peaks.
"For the next two weeks you must survive using the knowledge, skills and gear you bring with you. You will walk or float through intact ecosystems where people have lived with the land for thousands of years. You will experience solitude, self reliance and nature on its own terms. Are you prepared?"

Park (film)
Park is the name of an independent comedy-drama film released in 2007. It was produced by Dana Jackson and directed by Kurt Voelker.
The story revolves around a Los Angeles park, where ten colorful characters encounter love - and loss - in the course of one day.
It received the Audience Award at the 8th Annual CineVegas Festival where it was premiered in June 2006. After a limited theatrical run in 2007, it was released on DVD on May 20, 2008.

The Lone Wolf of Yellowstone Park - Documentary Films Full Length
The Gray Wolf, being the largest of the canid family, stands about 26 to 28 inches high at the shoulder for an adult male; a body length of 40 to 58 inches and tail approximately 13 to 20 inches long. The female wolf is roughly 15 to 20 percent smaller. The weight of North American wolves varies between 40 and 175 pounds, with average weights being between 60 to 100 pounds. Despite legends of 200-pound wolves, the heaviest wild wolf only weighed 175 pounds.
The gray wolf has a broad face and appears larger than it really is because of the ruff of fur below the ears. The eyes are usually a golden-yellow and at night shine a greenish orange. Its ears are approximately 2 inches long and the nose as much as 1.5 inches wide.
The wolf's body is built for traveling and its chest is narrow, allowing it to push more easily through the deep winter snows. The coat is thick and fluffy with long guard hairs that repel moisture and a thick wooly undercoat for insulation. The guard hairs may grow to 4 or 5 inches in length. The winter coats are then shed in the spring. The legs are long with oversized feet which act like snowshoes to enable the wolf to travel more easily in the snow.
The color of wolves range from all shades of gray, tan and brown to pure white or solid black, with the Red wolves having reddish coats. The tip of the tail is often black. Many of Canada's high Arctic wolves are creamy in color. White hair shafts have more air pockets than coloration pigment and therefore provide better insulation.
The wolf has extremely strong jaws with a crushing pressure that is twice that of a German Shepherd. The upper jaw has six incisors, two canine teeth, eight premolars and four molars. The lower jaw has six incisors, two canines, eight premolars and six molars. The incisors at the front of the jaw are used to cut flesh from prey. The canines, wich may reach two inches in length, pierce into flesh to hold prey. Premolars and molars are used for slicing and grinding.
The surface sense of smell in a wolf is 14 times that of a human and the degree of sensitivity to smell is 100 times more than the sensitivity of man. They can pick up a scent at least a mile away or more. According to Canadian naturalists, a dog's hearing is about sixteen times that of man. A wolf's hearing is even more acute than that. A wolf can hear as far as six miles away in the forest and ten miles away on the open tundra. Wolves have been known to respond to human imitations of wolf howls from three miles away.
The wolf's sense of sight is relatively poor compared to their smell and hearing. Observations have shown that their sight is at least as acute as that of humans. Naturalists believe that wolves are quite nearsighted and that they can clearly see details up to about 75 feet. However, the wolf's peripheral vision and ability to detect motion is excellent. The outer perimeter of a wolf's retina is extremely sensitive to movement. Their night vision is far superior to that of man's.
Naturalists have found that wolves tend to distinguish the colors red and yellow from other colors. The thinking is that perhaps because of red being the color of blood and yellow being that of urine. In any case, they seem to believe that wolves become more interested in colors that have a reddish base and have a strong ability to detect red from other colors.
Because of disease, parasites, injuries and hard winters of food shortages, wolves in the wild are likely to live less than 5 years. The true enemy of the wolf is man himself. Legal and illegal hunting, collisions with vehicles, trapping or predator control has wiped out a good many of the wolf population. In contrast to that, wolves in captivity can live as long as 18 years. Wolf Haven, near Tenino, Washington, had one wolf that lived to be over the age of 18 and currently has a wolf 17 years of age.

Following the Alatna River you will see an amazing place people rarely see, including the amazing Arrigetch Peaks.
"For the next two weeks you must survive using the knowledge, skills and gear you bring with you. You will walk or float through intact ecosystems where people have lived with the land for thousands of years. You will experience solitude, self reliance and nature on its own terms. Are you prepared?"
Filmed using Solar Power for Two Weeks = 10,000 combined shutter releases and video clips. Below is the link to how I accomplished this and stored all the pictures and video files.

Last May, The FADER spent a week with the rapper Vic Mensa in Chicago shooting our first video cover story, Down To Start A Riot. Mensa had recently joined Kanye West on stage at the BRIT Awards and was, along with the rest of his SAVEMONEY crew, teetering on the edge of breaking out in a major way. As Mensa's go-to producer and friend-since-grammar-school Stefan Ponce recalls, "He really did what he always knew he was going to do. Like, damn, this guy is really about to change his life."
Citing the versatility of SAVEMONEY's sound and the breadth of their projects, the documentary's director Aaron Brown says that, "It was cool to see what [Mensa and the SAVEMONEY guys] were doing, because they were doing something that has a lot more dimension." Brown spent time with Vic in the studio, where there was work to be done and fun to be had; followed him through the streets of Hyde Park, where he recalls seeing the body of a slain classmate as a teenager and where he is now stopped by admirers on the street; and he filmed him freestyling on a subway platform.
"I had the idea of trying to explore the genre of documentary, just trying to pick the pieces apart of a rapper," Brown says of the dramatic subway station session. "I was thinking of an acapella verse as a voiceover in a documentary, that's what it was. Just trying to freshen it up. We've all seen a bunch of rap videos and a bunch of documentaries, so it was asking, how can we think about them as one thing."

Last May, The FADER spent a week with the rapper Vic Mensa in Chicago shooting our first video cover story, Down To Start A Riot. Mensa had recently joined Kanye West on stage at the BRIT Awards and was, along with the rest of his SAVEMONEY crew, teetering on the edge of breaking out in a major way. As Mensa's go-to producer and friend-since-grammar-school Stefan Ponce recalls, "He really did what he always knew he was going to do. Like, damn, this guy is really about to change his life."
Citing the versatility of SAVEMONEY's sound and the breadth of their projects, the documentary's director Aaron Brown says that, "It was cool to see what [Mensa and the SAVEMONEY guys] were doing, because they were doing something that has a lot more dimension." Brown spent time with Vic in the studio, where there was work to be done and fun to be had; followed him through the streets of Hyde Park, where he recalls seeing the body of a slain classmate as a teenager and where he is now stopped by admirers on the street; and he filmed him freestyling on a subway platform.
"I had the idea of trying to explore the genre of documentary, just trying to pick the pieces apart of a rapper," Brown says of the dramatic subway station session. "I was thinking of an acapella verse as a voiceover in a documentary, that's what it was. Just trying to freshen it up. We've all seen a bunch of rap videos and a bunch of documentaries, so it was asking, how can we think about them as one thing."

In New York City, pick-up basketball is not just a sport. It is a way of life. There are 700+ outdoor courts, and an estimated 500,000 players, the most loyal of which approach the game as a religion, and the playground as their church.
"You can play high school or college for four years. You can play Pro for a decade. You can play pick-up ... for life."
DOIN' IT IN THE PARK: PICK-UP BASKETBALL, NYC lovingly uncovers this movement through the voices of playground legends, NBA athletes, and most importantly the common ballplayer who all day looks forward to calling "next" game at their local schoolyard.
Co-directors Bobbito Garcia and Kevin Couliau visited 180 courts throughout NYC's five boroughs to create their debut documentary. They traveled to a majority of the locations by bicycle, carrying camera equipment and a ball in their backpacks. The film's title refers as much to the subject matter as it does to the method of filmmaking, providing an unprecedented perspective on urban America's most popular, and accessible, free recreation.

Nosso Fusca foi a peça chave para chegarmos a tempo aos locais de grande dificuldade, agrademos nosso motor aspirado e seu belo sistema de controle de tração. Assim chegamos a tempo em todos os cenários escolhidos.
Vivemos varias aventuras! Afinal captar imagens usando a técnica de time lapse varia de horas a semanas, e milhares de fotos para serem construídas.
Contudo deu-se o resultado esperado. Que seja um prazer para seus olhos e que leve para você a mesma emoção que nos trouxe durante vinte dois dias de muito empenho e dedicação de toda equipe
Este foi o primeiro Parque Nacional do Brasil, criado em junho de 1937.
Situado na Serra da Mantiqueira, o Parque Nacional do Itatiaia abrange os municípios de Itatiaia e Resende no Estado do Rio de Janeiro e Bocaina de Minas e Itamonte no Estado de Minas Gerais, onde ficam aproximadamente 60% de seu território. A Unidade está localizada entre as cidades do Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo, próximo à Rodovia Presidente Dutra, tendo como pólo econômico mais próximo a cidade de Resende. Apresenta um relevo caracterizado por montanhas e elevações rochosas, com altitude variando de 600 a 2.791 m, no seu ponto culminante, o Pico das Agulhas Negras.
Na região do Planalto do Itatiaia, também conhecida como Parte Alta, encontram-se os campos de altitude e os vales suspensos onde nascem vários rios. A área do Parque abrange nascentes de 12 importantes bacias hidrográficas regionais, que drenam para duas bacias principais: a do rio Grande, afluente do rio Paraná, e a do rio Paraíba do Sul, o mais importante do Rio de Janeiro.
A parte baixa caracteriza-se principalmente por sua vegetação exuberante e generosos cursos d'água, com diversas áreas apropriadas para banho. Tem fácil acesso a partir da Via Dutra e recebe o maior fluxo de turistas do Parque, concentrando a maior parte da estrutura de visitação, com destaque para o Centro de Visitantes, revitalizado para os 70 anos do parque.

January 1, 2012: A gunman drove into Mount Rainier National Park and murdered an on-duty law enforcement ranger. Margaret Anderson leaves behind a husband and 2 young children.
June 21st, 2012: Climbing Ranger Nick Hall accidentally fell to his death while performing an on-mountain rescue of 4 injured climbers near the summit of Mount Rainier.
August 13, 2012: A group of 5 entrepreneurs, creatives and adventure-enthusiasts set out to summit Mount Rainier to raise funds for Margaret's husband and two children, and for Nick Hall's family. For 4 of the climbers, Ryan, Paul, Bradley and Jeff, this was their "first ascent".
Michael Rowley, Founder of 14,4 Foundation, has built his foundation on a passion for helping those whom have been injured in the outdoors, or families who have lost loved ones to the outdoors. This climb marks the first fundraising effort by 14,4 Foundation to help a family who lost a loved one in the line-of-duty.

A Walk in the Park - Tom Wallisch
Longtime Jiberish snow Fam Tom Wallisch turned the freeskiing world upside down in 2007 with the edit he submitted for Level 1 productions "Superunknown" contest. He showcased an effortless and confident style of riding that had not been previously been seen. 5 years later we wanted to create a follow up to that edit so we enlisted the help of the very talented team at Stept Productions to shoot Tom at Breckenridge. Having the cinematography and editing match the level of riding was very important to us in planning this project. The toughest part was deciding what to cut to fit everything into a tidy 3 minutes. We have always found common ground with Tom over the focus on style in every aspect of life. Enjoy the best park skier in the world doing what he does best.

April is 15 - her 4th calf
April has never lost a calf nor had a stillborn
Oliver is 5 - his 1st calf
They have some of the largest indoor stalls in the nation (sq ft per animal). We take pride in our indoor housing and the level of enrichment and care to keep them happy and healthy. Unsafe weather and yard conditions may limit their yard access.
The calf will weigh around 150lb and will be about 6' tall at birth.
The front hooves will come out first followed by the snout.
Mom will naturally raise the calf, with weaning could take between 6-10 months, maybe longer. We will not rush this process – it is just a documented range of captive weaning.
Once the calf is born, we will have a contest to name it.
The keepers will go in with April, clean her pen, give her treats (but not Oliver). He is a bull - and a bull is a bull is a bull!
Giraffes are pregnant for 15 months on average
Upon naturally weaning, the calf will move on to another facility to start a breeding program there. We cannot retain offspring, as it would lead to incestuous mating and undermine the genetics of the program and species.
Those "things" on their heads are called ossicones.
Bulls (male giraffes) only really care about two things- fighting and the unmentionable....
Oliver may share space with April, but for short periods. Bulls take no part in rearing young.
They eat hay and specialized giraffe diet but love romaine lettuce and carrot treats.
April's water source, enrichment, and solo hay feeder are out of sight of the camera view.
This is Animal Adventure's first giraffe calf.

Longtime Jiberish snow Fam Tom Wallisch turned the freeskiing world upside down in 2007 with the edit he submitted for Level 1 productions "Superunknown" contest. He showcased an effortless and confident style of riding that had not been previously been seen.
5 years later we wanted to create a follow up to that edit so we enlisted the help of the very talented team at Stept Productions to shoot Tom at Breckenridge. Having the cinematography and editing match the level of riding was very important to us in planning this project. The toughest part was deciding what to cut to fit everything into a tidy 3 minutes.
We have always found common ground with Tom over the focus on style in every aspect of life. Enjoy the best park skier in the world doing what he does best.
