Picture of the Year 2016 is the eleventh edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons image competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons.

Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons (FP) during the year 2016, to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Voting is simple

In the second and current round, you may vote for up to 3 finalists you like. Each of these 3 votes counts equal and one candidate must be only voted once. Note: if someone casts more than three votes, only the 3 most recent votes will be counted. To vote, you must be an established Wikimedia user with more than 75 edits before January 1, 2017. All of the images are categorized by subject and organized in topical galleries. (check eligibility)
