Tim Omotoso

Tim Omotoso (born Timothy Oluseun Omotoso, 14 July 1958) is a Nigerian televangelist and senior pastor of the Jesus Dominion International, an interdenominational ministry, based in Durban, South Africa. He is also the founder of Tim Omotoso Global Outreach.

Personal life

He has said he was taught by the Lord to play the piano, the guitar, drums and other musical instruments before the age of 10. In the 1980s, he served as a music director for Ebenezer Obey's Decross Band & Inter Reformers' Band in the 80s.

Career

An arm of his ministry, Help the Helpless (HTH), helps the underprivileged. The itinerant arm of his ministry functions under Tim Omotoso Global Outreach (T.O.G.O), while the Church arm is Jesus Dominion International with branches across South Africa, France and the UK; it holds crusades all over the world, including Nigeria

Omotoso has initiated a youth project in South Africa called “Youth Empowerment Project” (YEP), under which he has mentored a number of music groups including Grace Galaxy and Simply Chrysolite who have composed their own songs and produced albums under his guidance.

South Africa

South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa, is the southernmost sovereign state in Africa. Two of these languages are of European origin: Afrikaans developed from Dutch and serves as the first language of most white and coloured South Africans; English reflects the legacy of British colonialism, and is commonly used in public and commercial life, though it is fourth-ranked as a spoken first language.

Ancient of Days

Ancient of Days, or Head of Days, is a name for God in the Book of Daniel: in the original Aramaic Atik Yomin; in the Greek Septuagint Palaios Hemeron; and in the Vulgate Antiquus Dierum.

The title "Ancient of Days" has been used as a source of inspiration in art and music, denoting the Creator's aspects of eternity combined with perfection. William Blake's watercolour and relief etching entitled "The Ancient of Days" is one such example.

Port Elizabeth

Port Elizabeth or The Bay (Zulu: Bhayi; Xhosa: iBhayi; Afrikaans: Die Baai) is one of the largest cities in South Africa, situated in the Eastern Cape Province, 770 km (478 mi) east of Cape Town. The city, often shortened to PE and nicknamed "The Friendly City" or "The Windy City", stretches for 16 km along Algoa Bay, and is one of the major seaports in South Africa.

Port Elizabeth was founded as a town in 1820 to house British settlers as a way of strengthening the border region between the Cape Colony and the Xhosa. It now forms part of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, which has a population of over 1.3 million.

History

The area around what is now called Algoa Bay was first settled by hunting and gathering people ancestral to the San at least 100,000 years ago. Around 2,000 years ago, they were gradually displaced or assimilated by agriculturalist populations ancestral to the Xhosa, who migrated into the region from the north.

The first Europeans to have visited the area were Portuguese explorers Bartholomeu Dias, who landed on St Croix Island in Algoa Bay in 1488, and Vasco da Gama, who noted the nearby Bird Island in 1497. For centuries, the area was simply marked on European navigation charts as "a landing place with fresh water".

Pål Mathiesen

Athera (born Pål Mathiesen on August 14, 1977) is a Norwegian musician, best known as the former vocalist of Susperia. He is currently the vocalist for Chrome Division.

In 2009, Athera suffered a heart attack which resulted in major open heart surgery.
