1960 (MCMLX) was a leap year starting on Friday (dominical letter CB) of the Gregorian calendar, the 1960th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 960th year of the 2nd millennium, the 60th year of the 20th century, and the 1st year of the 1960s decade. It is also known as the "Year of Africa" because of major events—particularly the independence of seventeen African nations—that focused global attention on the continent and intensified feelings of Pan-Africanism.
A music director may be the director of an orchestra or concert band, the director of music for a film, the director of music at a radio station, the head of the music department in a school, the coordinator of the musical ensembles in a university, college, or institution (but not usually the head of the academic music department), the head bandmaster of a military band, the head organist and choirmaster of a church, or an Organist and Master of the Choristers (a title given to a Director of Music at a cathedral, particularly in England).
The title of "music director" or "musical director" is used by many symphony orchestras to designate the primary conductor and artistic leader of the orchestra. The term "music director" is most common for orchestras in the United States. With European orchestras, the titles of "principal conductor" or "chief conductor" are more common, which designate the conductor who directs the majority of a given orchestra's concerts in a season. In musical theatre and opera, the music director is in charge of the overall musical performance, including ensuring that the cast knows the music thoroughly, supervising the musical interpretation of the performers and pit orchestra, and conducting the orchestra.

Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and one of the most popular singers of the Hindi film industry. Rafi was notable for his versatility, his songs ranged from classical numbers to patriotic songs, sad lamentations to highly romantic numbers, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans. He was known for his ability to mould his voice to the persona of the actor lip-synching the song on screen in the movie. Between 1950 and 1970, Rafi was the most sought after singer in the Hindi film industry. He received six Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award. In 1967, he was honoured with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India.
Rafi is primarily noted for his songs in Hindi, over which he had a strong command. He sang in other Indian languages including Assamese, Konkani, Bhojpuri, Odia, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Sindhi, Kannada, Gujarati, Telugu, Magahi, Maithili and Urdu. Apart from Indian languages, he also sang songs in English, Farsi, Arabic, Creole, and Dutch.

'A typical day in modern kitchen. Mom is "operations chief" - she creates and prepares in the kitchen." In the early 1960's - an era of valium addiction to cope with this oppressive ideology left over from the 1950's. Propaganda to keep women in the kitchen, lucky it didnt work.
This is a Public Service Announcement (PSA) from the 1960's telling young boys to be careful when hitchhiking as this is how "homosexuals" prey on their "victims". Ridiculous ans so wrong. Please subscribe to my channel and like this video!!! - http://www.youtube.com/user/nestpasnon
The shadows in the 1960's were unusual in that they were equally successful as a backing group for Clifff Richard and in their own right as one of the top instrumental bands of that era with smash hits and number 1 records that were the envy of many of their contemporaries. And they could sing too when necessary.
Billboard magazine charts the top songs each year. Their ranking depends on such things as the number of weeks the song remained at number one. This video contains their top 10 ranked songs for 1960. Badaranii 1960
NODO 1960
SLYDINI 1960.
How 'bout a tear for the year of 1960
I watched the fins of the Cadillac fall
I remember Dad explained about the Berlin Wall
How 'bout a tear for the torment and the trouble
That was brewing in the Asian way
I wore a smile like the faces that surround L.A.
In the city of the lost and found
It's hard to get a break
Hard to stop from getting turned around
And make the same mistakes
My reputation's on the line
The final day of '59
But like the sun, just watch me shine
Today
How 'bout a cheer for the piano virtuoso
I practiced 61 minutes a day
I could never reach the keys
But it was all OK
How 'bout a cheer for the humour in my brother
That could brighten up the darkest nights
It's just another sign of love
Whenever we would fight
It's all the same twenty years ago
As it is right now
Like a tour at the closing show
When I take my bow
My reputation's on the line
At the start of '79
But like the sun, just watch me shine
Today
I've played this part so many times
Since the end of '59
But like the sun, just watch me shine
