13 reading now

It has been a horror weekend on WA roads, with two people killed and others, including children, left severely injured.

The deaths bring the state's road toll up to 41.

On Saturday morning a 28-year-old Mullewa woman passed away after a horrific car crash in Dongara.

The woman was a passenger in a Peugeot 206 when it collided with a Ford Territory SUV driving in the opposite direction near the Kailis Drive turn-off.

The woman was flown to Geraldton for treatment but later died as a result of her injuries. The driver of the Peugot and the two occupants of the Ford were kept in hospital overnight as a precaution, but their injuries appeared to be minor.

A motorcyclist also lost his life when he crashed into a tree on Brockman Highway in Maranup on Saturday afternoon.

In the North West on Friday morning a 14-year-old girl lost control over the car she was driving and smashed the vehicle into a lamp post in South Hedland.

A 24-year-old female passenger received injuries and was flown to Perth for surgery, while the driver and other male passenger suffered minor injuries.

Hours later in WA's South West, two women and three children were seriously injured in a severe head-on collision on Bussell Highway in Capel.

A 72-year-old woman was flown to Royal Perth Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to receive treatment, and the 44-year-old driver of the other car was taken to South West Health Campus.

The three children involved in the crash were also injured, and one child was flown to Princess Margaret Hospital.

On Friday evening, a man was also pulled from his vehicle by emergency services after rolling on Forrest Highway. Neither the driver nor his female passenger received life-threatening injuries.

As of 11am on Sunday morning, the RAC Helicopter attended two separate motorcycle incidents in Beverley and Myalup.

The road toll has not been updated since April 6, but will be up to date on Monday morning.
