Steven Spielberg filters J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan through a distinctly 1990s sensibility in Hook. Peter Pan has become Peter Banning (Robin Williams), a 40-year-old mergers and acquisitions lawyer with a permanent scowl on his face and a cellular phone in his belt. Banning has lost any memory of being Peter Pan, and he is also in danger of losing his wife Moira (Caroline Goodall) and two children, Jack (Charlie Korsmo) and Maggie (Amber Scott). Peter and his family travel to London to visit Granny Wendy (Maggie Smith) who recalls Peter's lost youth and asks him, "Peter, dear, don't you know who you are?" With Peter's children asleep in the same bedroom where the original Peter Pan story began, there is a blinding flash. Peter comes into the room to discover a note from Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman), informing Peter that he has kidnapped his children. Granny Wendy now tells him who he really is and encourages him to re-discover his happy thoughts, transform himself into the Peter Pan of the past, and go rescue his children. With the encouragement of Tinkerbell (Julia Roberts), Peter recalls the birth of his son and once again takes wing. Then it's off to Never Land to rescue his kids.

A few months ago I decided I wanted to make a series of films about illustrated journaling. Not a how-to, step-by-step sort of thing but films that capture the adventure of drawing, the discovery, the spirit, the fun. I hope they will inspire you to make drawings (and films, if you want) and to keep an illustrated journal as a regular part of your everyday lives.
My 17 year-old son, Jack Tea, has joined me in this project and together we have worked through lots of technical obstacles to make films that look as good as we can make them on no budget. Our inspiration comes from the Cooking Channel, from Etsy's vlog, and from too many decades of loving movies.
We shoot on our Canon 7D, rent different lenses (in this case we relied heavily on the 100/2.8 L IS Macro) each weekend, use Jack's skateboard as a dolly, and rope our friends in for help and opinions.

Here's the newest film in the series, a portrait of my great friend, Tommy Kane, as he rides around his neighborhood in search of something new to draw. Tom is a great traveller — he regularly posts sumptuous journal pages made on his vacations and business trips. His favorite home-away-from-home is Korea and he has made many amazing drawings on its streets and in its markets.
This time, we decided he should travel through his own neck of the woods, see it anew like a visiting stranger and capture a mundane little corner and fill it with his particular brand of magic. Normally Tom works mainly on site, dragging out all of his materials onto the pavement around his little folding stool but instead we decided to expand the scene and show you some of Tom's home and studio and incidentally some of the wonderful big paintings he's done on canvas.
When journaling, he works in Uniball, watercolor and pencil, sometime in books, sometimes on loose sheets of bond or watercolor paper. He is a meticulous crosshatcher and spend hours on some of his drawings. When we draw together, I invariably start to chafe at the bit and beg him to finish at home as I am tired of sitting in his shadow, my own drawing long finished and yellowing on the page, glazing over as he crosshatches more and more details.
We shot the film in two days — on the streets of Brooklyn and in Tom's home where his lovely wife, Yun, made us lunch and watched our obsessiveness with a bemused smile. It was the height of a baking summer and storm crowds rolled in and out, marring our continuity.
We shot an extravagant amount and it took a month to wade through it all and pare it down. The first cut was twice as long as what you'll see today, but we resharpened our blades and ruthlessly trimmed back to the bare essentials. We tried to retain the essence of how Tom works, the way he layers media and adds detail. It's fascinating to see how his drawing builds and builds — when you see the final result, it's often hard to figure out how he got there. With this film, I hope you'll share in how the journey unfolds.

The technical nature of competing on a track bike requires competitors to possess both street tuned handling skills and a high level of strength and fitness. Riders are confirmed from 14 countries promising a thrilling show for the thousands of spectators expected to line the circuit.
In coordination with Sunday October 14th’s designation as a “car free day” the city of Milano has awarded permits and cooperation to realize the dream of organizing this race in the city proper.
This race is an important demonstration on what is possible in urban areas around the world.

Film

Peter Pan
Peter Pan is a character created by Scottish novelist and playwright J. M. Barrie. A mischievous boy who can fly and never grows up, Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood having adventures on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang, the Lost Boys, interacting with mermaids, Native Americans, fairies, pirates, and occasionally ordinary children from the world outside Neverland. In addition to two distinct works by Barrie, the character has been featured in a variety of media and merchandise, both adapting and expanding on Barrie's works. These include an animated film, a dramatic film, a TV series and other works.
Origin
J. M. Barrie first used Peter Pan as a character in a section of The Little White Bird (1902), an adult novel.
He returned to that character as the centre of his stage play entitled Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, which premiered on 27 December 1904 in London. The play was highly popular, running to 1913.
Following the success of the 1904 play, Barrie's publishers, Hodder and Stoughton, extracted chapters 13–18 of The Little White Bird and republished them in 1906 under the title Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, with the addition of illustrations by Arthur Rackham.

Robin Williams
Robin McLaurin Williams (July 21, 1951 – August 11, 2014) was an American actor and comedian. Starting as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco and Los Angeles in the mid-1970s, he is credited with leading San Francisco's comedy renaissance. After rising to fame as Mork in the sitcom Mork & Mindy (1978–82), he went on to establish a career in both stand-up comedy and feature film acting. He was known for his improvisational skills.
After his film debut in the musical comedy Popeye (1980), he starred or co-starred in widely acclaimed films, including the comedy-drama The World According to Garp (1982), war comedy Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), dramas Dead Poets Society (1989) and Awakenings (1990), comedy-drama The Fisher King (1991), the animated musical-fantasy Aladdin (1992), drama Good Will Hunting (1997), and psychological thriller One Hour Photo (2002), as well as financial successes such as the fantasy adventure film Hook (1991), comedy Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), fantasy adventure Jumanji (1995), comedy The Birdcage (1996), and the Night at the Museum trilogy.

Not a how-to, step-by-step sort of thing but films that capture the adventure of drawing, the discovery, the spirit, the fun. I hope they will inspire you to make drawings (and films, if you want) and to keep an illustrated journal as a regular part of your everyday lives. My 17 year-old son, Jack Tea, has joined me in this project and together we have worked through lots of technical obstacles to make films that look as good as we can make them on no budget. Our inspiration comes from the Cooking Channel, from Etsy's vlog, and from too many decades of loving movies. We shoot on our Canon 7D, rent different lenses (in this case we relied heavily on the 100/2.8 L IS Macro) each weekend, use Jack's skateboard as a dolly, and rope our friends in for help and opinions. Our first film is called "The Art of Breakfast". You can see it at http://vimeo.com/26850647 Here's the newest film in the series, a portrait of my great friend, Tommy Kane, as he rides around his neighborhood in search of something new to draw. Tom is a great traveller — he regularly posts sumptuous journal pages made on his vacations and business trips. His favorite home-away-from-home is Korea and he has made many amazing drawings on its streets and in its markets. This time, we decided he should travel through his own neck of the woods, see it anew like a visiting stranger and capture a mundane little corner and fill it with his particular brand of magic. Normally Tom works mainly on site, dragging out all of his materials onto the pavement around his little folding stool but instead we decided to expand the scene and show you some of Tom's home and studio and incidentally some of the wonderful big paintings he's done on canvas. When journaling, he works in Uniball, watercolor and pencil, sometime in books, sometimes on loose sheets of bond or watercolor paper. He is a meticulous crosshatcher and spend hours on some of his drawings. When we draw together, I invariably start to chafe at the bit and beg him to finish at home as I am tired of sitting in his shadow, my own drawing long finished and yellowing on the page, glazing over as he crosshatches more and more details. We shot the film in two days — on the streets of Brooklyn and in Tom's home where his lovely wife, Yun, made us lunch and watched our obsessiveness with a bemused smile. It was the height of a baking summer and storm crowds rolled in and out, marring our continuity. We shot an extravagant amount and it took a month to wade through it all and pare it down. The first cut was twice as long as what you'll see today, but we resharpened our blades and ruthlessly trimmed back to the bare essentials. We tried to retain the essence of how Tom works, the way he layers media and adds detail. It's fascinating to see how his drawing builds and builds — when you see the final result, it's often hard to figure out how he got there. With this film, I hope you'll share in how the journey unfolds. -

Red Hook Crit has been held since 2008 in Red Hook, a neighborhood in Brooklyn that is over looked by the financial district of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Moving to New York and discovering alleycats through a mutual friend, David Trimble started to be more curious with fixed geared bikes or track bikes. For his birthday in 2008, he decided to host a race. With his interest in formula one racing and bikes, he decided to throw a criterium. Not just any crit. this crit would involve, no gears, no shifters and most importantly, no brakes. Sounds insane, huh? Well not to those who took part in the first ever Red Hook Crit. The 18 lap race, around 3 city blocks would change the way fixed gears are ridden in a unsanctioned, non-alleycat format to date. Now the Event travels the world, bringing competitors from all over the globe and all sorts of backgrounds. This was the 6 time track bikes would invade the quiet neighborhood, with little public transportation coming in or out. Cab or bikes is your best method. With over 1,000 in attendance, Red Hook Crit has put Red Hook on the map for cyclist around the world.

The Red Hook Crit first hit the cobbles of Red Hook in 2008. With less than 20 competitors. Now with almost 300 racers fighting for position to qualify, RHC has grown immensely. Crowds in the thousands come to Red Hook Brooklyn to cheer on friends, family or just simply to spectate. This year RHC has added a women's field to the program to add to the mens race and the mens and women's running race. With a full schedule in 2014, there was only one challenge in everyones way. Peter Pan (Robin Williams) finally defeats Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Steven Spielberg filters J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan through a distinctly 1990s sensibility in Hook. Peter Pan has become Peter Banning (Robin Williams), a 40-year-old mergers and acquisitions lawyer with a permanent scowl on his face and a cellular phone in his belt. Banning has lost any memory of being Peter Pan, and he is also in danger of losing his wife Moira (Caroline Goodall) and two children, Jack (Charlie Korsmo) and Maggie (Amber Scott). Peter and his family travel to London to visit Granny Wendy (Maggie Smith) who recalls Peter's lost youth and asks him, "Peter, dear, don't you know who you are?" With Peter's children asleep in the same bedroom where the original Peter Pan story began, there is a blinding flash. Peter comes into the room to discover a note from Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman), informing Peter that he has kidnapped his children. Granny Wendy now tells him who he really is and encourages him to re-discover his happy thoughts, transform himself into the Peter Pan of the past, and go rescue his children. A few months ago I decided I wanted to make a series of films about illustrated journaling. Not a how-to, step-by-step sort of thing but films that capture the adventure of drawing, the discovery, the spirit, the fun. I hope they will inspire you to make drawings (and films, if you want) and to keep an illustrated journal as a regular part of your everyday lives.
My 17 year-old son, Jack Tea, has joined me in this project and together we have worked through lots of technical obstacles to make films that look as good as we can make them on no budget. Our inspiration comes from the Cooking Channel, from Etsy's vlog, and from too many decades of loving movies.
We shoot on our Canon 7D, rent different lenses (in this case we relied heavily on the 100/2.8 L IS Macro) each weekend, use Jack's skateboard as a dolly, and rope our friends in for help and opinions.

Here's the newest film in the series, a portrait of my great friend, Tommy Kane, as he rides around his neighborhood in search of something new to draw. Tom is a great traveller — he regularly posts sumptuous journal pages made on his vacations and business trips. His favorite home-away-from-home is Korea and he has made many amazing drawings on its streets and in its markets.
This time, we decided he should travel through his own neck of the woods, see it anew like a visiting stranger and capture a mundane little corner and fill it with his particular brand of magic. Normally Tom works mainly on site, dragging out all of his materials onto the pavement around his little folding stool but instead we decided to expand the scene and show you some of Tom's home and studio and incidentally some of the wonderful big paintings he's done on canvas.
When journaling, he works in Uniball, watercolor and pencil, sometime in books, sometimes on loose sheets of bond or watercolor paper. He is a meticulous crosshatcher and spend hours on some of his drawings. When we draw together, I invariably start to chafe at the bit and beg him to finish at home as I am tired of sitting in his shadow, my own drawing long finished and yellowing on the page, glazing over as he crosshatches more and more details.
We shot the film in two days — on the streets of Brooklyn and in Tom's home where his lovely wife, Yun, made us lunch and watched our obsessiveness with a bemused smile. It was the height of a baking summer and storm crowds rolled in and out, marring our continuity.
We shot an extravagant amount and it took a month to wade through it all and pare it down. The first cut was twice as long as what you'll see today, but we resharpened our blades and ruthlessly trimmed back to the bare essentials. We tried to retain the essence of how Tom works, the way he layers media and adds detail. It's fascinating to see how his drawing builds and builds — when you see the final result, it's often hard to figure out how he got there. With this film, I hope you'll share in how the journey unfolds.

The Italian version of the world’s premiere track bike criterium returns once again to the streets of Milano.
The race will consist of 100 elite road cyclists, track racers, bike messengers, and urban athletes competing over 22 laps.
The technical nature of competing on a track bike requires competitors to possess both street tuned handling skills and a high level of strength and fitness. Riders are confirmed from 14 countries promising a thrilling show for the thousands of spectators expected to line the circuit.
In coordination with Sunday October 14th’s designation as a “car free day” the city of Milano has awarded permits and cooperation to realize the dream of organizing this race in the city proper.
This race is an important demonstration on what is possible in urban areas around the world.

Red Hook Crit has been held since 2008 in Red Hook, a neighborhood in Brooklyn that is over looked by the financial district of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Moving to New York and discovering alleycats through a mutual friend, David Trimble started to be more curious with fixed geared bikes or track bikes. For his birthday in 2008, he decided to host a race. With his interest in formula one racing and bikes, he decided to throw a criterium. Not just any crit. this crit would involve, no gears, no shifters and most importantly, no brakes. Sounds insane, huh? Well not to those who took part in the first ever Red Hook Crit. The 18 lap race, around 3 city blocks would change the way fixed gears are ridden in a unsanctioned, non-alleycat format to date. Now the Event travels the world, bringing competitors from all over the globe and all sorts of backgrounds.
This was the 6 time track bikes would invade the quiet neighborhood, with little public transportation coming in or out. Cab or bikes is your best method. With over 1,000 in attendance, Red Hook Crit has put Red Hook on the map for cyclist around the world.

The Red Hook Crit first hit the cobbles of Red Hook in 2008. With less than 20 competitors. Now with almost 300 racers fighting for position to qualify, RHC has grown immensely. Crowds in the thousands come to Red Hook Brooklyn to cheer on friends, family or just simply to spectate.
This year RHC has added a women's field to the program to add to the mens race and the mens and women's running race. With a full schedule in 2014, there was only one challenge in everyones way. The weather!
With 30 plus women in the starting line, everyone was excited for the first installment of the RHC women's field. Ash Duban was selected by Trimble Racing as the favorite.She did not disappoint by qualifying first to meet that pressure. On the mens side it was Neil Bezdek who was picked the pre-race favorite to come back and win the race again. Watch as an exciting race filled evening unfolded in both crits.

The Red Hook Criterium is a unique nighttime bike race in Brooklyn, New York. Each March, more than 80 amateur cyclists - business owners, artists and bike messengers by day - descend on Red Hook's industrial streets, bringing with them their fixed gear, brakeless, single speed bikes (and a hefty dose of courage) to race on a techinical course. The athletes are as different as can be, but they've all got the same goal in mind: winning the famed cobblestone trophy.
This is a story about one rider's journey towards his first-ever Red Hook Crit. Frank Warren, owner of the Breukelen Coffee House in Crown Heights, is a passionate amateur cyclist who dreams of making a podium finish and cementing his name on the fixed gear circuit. But running a successful business while training for the biggest race of his life is a difficult balancing act. Can he do both?
Through Frank, we learn that fixed gear cycling is more than a hobby, a sport, an exercise. It's a lifestyle, a culture, a worldwide movement. And if the criterium race format catches on and explodes likes he knows it can - fixed gear riding may very well take over skateboarding's role and become the next big urban sport.

Red Hook Crit has been held since 2008 in Red Hook, a neighborhood in Brooklyn that is over looked by the financial district of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Moving to New York and discovering alleycats through a mutual friend, David Trimble started to be more curious with fixed geared bikes or track bikes. For his birthday in 2008, he decided to host a race. With his interest in formula one racing and bikes, he decided to throw a criterium. Not just any crit. this crit would involve, no gears, no shifters and most importantly, no brakes. Sounds insane, huh? Well not to those who took part in the first ever Red Hook Crit. The Red Hook Crit first hit the cobbles of Red Hook in 2008. With less than 20 competitors. Now with almost 300 racers fighting for position to qualify, RHC has grown immensely. Crowds in the thousands come to Red Hook Brooklyn to cheer on friends, family or just simply to spectate. This year RHC has added a women's field to the program to add to the mens race and the mens and women's running race. With a full schedule in 2014, there was only one challenge in everyones way. Steven Spielberg filters J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan through a distinctly 1990s sensibility in Hook. Peter Pan has become Peter Banning (Robin Williams), a 40-year-old mergers and acquisitions lawyer with a permanent scowl on his face and a cellular phone in his belt. Banning has lost any memory of being Peter Pan, and he is also in danger of losing his wife Moira (Caroline Goodall) and two children, Jack (Charlie Korsmo) and Maggie (Amber Scott). Peter and his family travel to London to visit Granny Wendy (Maggie Smith) who recalls Peter's lost youth and asks him, "Peter, dear, don't you know who you are?" With Peter's children asleep in the same bedroom where the original Peter Pan story began, there is a blinding flash. Peter comes into the room to discover a note from Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman), informing Peter that he has kidnapped his children. Granny Wendy now tells him who he really is and encourages him to re-discover his happy thoughts, transform himself into the Peter Pan of the past, and go rescue his children. A few months ago I decided I wanted to make a series of films about illustrated journaling. Not a how-to, step-by-step sort of thing but films that capture the adventure of drawing, the discovery, the spirit, the fun. I hope they will inspire you to make drawings (and films, if you want) and to keep an illustrated journal as a regular part of your everyday lives.
My 17 year-old son, Jack Tea, has joined me in this project and together we have worked through lots of technical obstacles to make films that look as good as we can make them on no budget. Our inspiration comes from the Cooking Channel, from Etsy's vlog, and from too many decades of loving movies.
We shoot on our Canon 7D, rent different lenses (in this case we relied heavily on the 100/2.8 L IS Macro) each weekend, use Jack's skateboard as a dolly, and rope our friends in for help and opinions.

Here's the newest film in the series, a portrait of my great friend, Tommy Kane, as he rides around his neighborhood in search of something new to draw. Tom is a great traveller — he regularly posts sumptuous journal pages made on his vacations and business trips. His favorite home-away-from-home is Korea and he has made many amazing drawings on its streets and in its markets.
This time, we decided he should travel through his own neck of the woods, see it anew like a visiting stranger and capture a mundane little corner and fill it with his particular brand of magic. Normally Tom works mainly on site, dragging out all of his materials onto the pavement around his little folding stool but instead we decided to expand the scene and show you some of Tom's home and studio and incidentally some of the wonderful big paintings he's done on canvas.
When journaling, he works in Uniball, watercolor and pencil, sometime in books, sometimes on loose sheets of bond or watercolor paper. He is a meticulous crosshatcher and spend hours on some of his drawings. When we draw together, I invariably start to chafe at the bit and beg him to finish at home as I am tired of sitting in his shadow, my own drawing long finished and yellowing on the page, glazing over as he crosshatches more and more details.
We shot the film in two days — on the streets of Brooklyn and in Tom's home where his lovely wife, Yun, made us lunch and watched our obsessiveness with a bemused smile. It was the height of a baking summer and storm crowds rolled in and out, marring our continuity.
We shot an extravagant amount and it took a month to wade through it all and pare it down. The first cut was twice as long as what you'll see today, but we resharpened our blades and ruthlessly trimmed back to the bare essentials. We tried to retain the essence of how Tom works, the way he layers media and adds detail. It's fascinating to see how his drawing builds and builds — when you see the final result, it's often hard to figure out how he got there. With this film, I hope you'll share in how the journey unfolds.

The Italian version of the world’s premiere track bike criterium returns once again to the streets of Milano.
The race will consist of 100 elite road cyclists, track racers, bike messengers, and urban athletes competing over 22 laps.
The technical nature of competing on a track bike requires competitors to possess both street tuned handling skills and a high level of strength and fitness. Riders are confirmed from 14 countries promising a thrilling show for the thousands of spectators expected to line the circuit.
In coordination with Sunday October 14th’s designation as a “car free day” the city of Milano has awarded permits and cooperation to realize the dream of organizing this race in the city proper.
This race is an important demonstration on what is possible in urban areas around the world.

Red Hook Crit has been held since 2008 in Red Hook, a neighborhood in Brooklyn that is over looked by the financial district of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Moving to New York and discovering alleycats through a mutual friend, David Trimble started to be more curious with fixed geared bikes or track bikes. For his birthday in 2008, he decided to host a race. With his interest in formula one racing and bikes, he decided to throw a criterium. Not just any crit. this crit would involve, no gears, no shifters and most importantly, no brakes. Sounds insane, huh? Well not to those who took part in the first ever Red Hook Crit. The 18 lap race, around 3 city blocks would change the way fixed gears are ridden in a unsanctioned, non-alleycat format to date. Now the Event travels the world, bringing competitors from all over the globe and all sorts of backgrounds.
This was the 6 time track bikes would invade the quiet neighborhood, with little public transportation coming in or out. Cab or bikes is your best method. With over 1,000 in attendance, Red Hook Crit has put Red Hook on the map for cyclist around the world.

The Red Hook Crit first hit the cobbles of Red Hook in 2008. With less than 20 competitors. Now with almost 300 racers fighting for position to qualify, RHC has grown immensely. Crowds in the thousands come to Red Hook Brooklyn to cheer on friends, family or just simply to spectate.
This year RHC has added a women's field to the program to add to the mens race and the mens and women's running race. With a full schedule in 2014, there was only one challenge in everyones way. The weather!
With 30 plus women in the starting line, everyone was excited for the first installment of the RHC women's field. Ash Duban was selected by Trimble Racing as the favorite.She did not disappoint by qualifying first to meet that pressure. On the mens side it was Neil Bezdek who was picked the pre-race favorite to come back and win the race again. Watch as an exciting race filled evening unfolded in both crits.

A film in which you will be able to follow a French rider in the Red Hook Crit in Milano. This crit has become a must for any fixed gear fan.
Introduction of a series of documentary, this first part presents the ins and outs of the Red hook Crit.
It is the opportunity to meet riders coming from all around the world, like Ray Cooper (King Kog - Rosko), Kyle Murphy (MASHSF) and Evan Murphy (Stanridge Speed Cycles). They will share with us their visions about bike's world and this spectacular event .

Introduction of a series of documentary, this first part presents the ins and outs of the Red hook Crit.
It is the opportunity to meet riders coming from all around the world, like Ray Cooper (King Kog - Rosko), Kyle Murphy (MASHSF) and Evan Murphy (Stanridge Speed Cycles). They will share with us their visions about bike's world and this spectacular event .

The Red Hook Criterium is a unique nighttime bike race in Brooklyn, New York. Each March, more than 80 amateur cyclists - business owners, artists and bike messengers by day - descend on Red Hook's industrial streets, bringing with them their fixed gear, brakeless, single speed bikes (and a hefty dose of courage) to race on a techinical course. The athletes are as different as can be, but they've all got the same goal in mind: winning the famed cobblestone trophy.
This is a story about one rider's journey towards his first-ever Red Hook Crit. Frank Warren, owner of the Breukelen Coffee House in Crown Heights, is a passionate amateur cyclist who dreams of making a podium finish and cementing his name on the fixed gear circuit. But running a successful business while training for the biggest race of his life is a difficult balancing act. Can he do both?
Through Frank, we learn that fixed gear cycling is more than a hobby, a sport, an exercise. It's a lifestyle, a culture, a worldwide movement. And if the criterium race format catches on and explodes likes he knows it can - fixed gear riding may very well take over skateboarding's role and become the next big urban sport.

McQueen acaba conhecendo os inusitados habitantes da cidade, que o ajudam a perceber que hل coisas mais importantes na vida do que troféus, fama e patrocيnio. McQueen descobre que a vida vale a pena pela jornada, e nمo pela linha de chegada.
