Andrew Ucles teaches the science behind primitive trapping for catching vultures in the wild. Using a deceased Capybara, some string and a tree, he designs an efficient animal trap that can be used to catch predatory birds such as the vulture in the wild.
There are a number of strategic steps to take in primitive trap building and Andrew discusses these intricate steps that you need to replicate in order to capture your target species such as the vulture.
Primitive trap building dates back to many thousands of years and this clip is dedicated to this ancient design. Have some practice, and please be careful, but most importantly be aware and respectful of animal welfare.

Vulture
Vulture is the name given to two groups of scavenging birds of prey: the New World vultures, including the Californian and Andean condors; and the Old World vultures, including the birds that are seen scavenging on carcasses of dead animals on African plains. Research has shown that some traditional Old World vultures (including the bearded vulture) are not closely related to the others, which is why the vultures are to be subdivided into three taxa rather than two. New World vultures are found in North and South America; Old World vultures are found in Europe, Africa and Asia, meaning that between the two groups, vultures are found on every continent except Australia and Antarctica.
A particular characteristic of many vultures is a bald head, devoid of normal feathers. Although it has been historically believed to help keep the head clean when feeding, research has shown that the bare skin may play an important role in thermoregulation. Vultures have been observed to hunch their bodies and tuck in their heads in the cold, and open their wings and stretch their necks in the heat.

Nat Geo Wild
Nat Geo Wild (stylized as Nat Geo WILD or abbreviated as NGW) is a cable/satellite TV channel focused primarily on wildlife and natural history programming. It is a sister network to National Geographic Channel and it is the latest channel to be jointly launched by the National Geographic Society and Fox Cable Networks.
It first launched in Hong Kong on January 1, 2006. The channel later launched in the United Kingdom, Turkey, Ireland, Romania, India, Vietnam, and Poland replacing the now defunct Adventure One. The channel remains the world's first bilingual wildlife service, available in English and Cantonese in the Hong Kong market as well as Tagalog in The Philippines. The channel launched in Latin America on November 1, 2009 as a high definition channel. In 2010, it launched in the United States.
As of February 2015, approximately 57,891,000 American households (49.7% of households with television) receive Nat Geo Wild.

How to Catch a Vulture - with Andrew Ucles
Andrew Ucles teaches the science behind primitive trapping for catching vultures in the wild. Using a deceased Capybara, some string and a tree, he designs an efficient animal trap that can be used to catch predatory birds such as the vulture in the wild. There are a number of strategic steps to take in primitive trap building and Andrew discusses these intricate steps that you need to replicate in order to capture your target species such as the vulture. Primitive trap building dates back to many thousands of years and this clip is dedicated to this ancient design.
