Mexico City (Spanish: Ciudad de México audio American Spanish: [sjuˈða(ð) ðe ˈméxiko]; abbreviated as "CDMX") is the capital of Mexico. Mexico City is the country's largest city as well as its most important political, cultural, educational and financial center.
As an "alpha" global city Mexico City is one of the most important financial centers in the Americas. It is located in the Valley of Mexico (Valle de México), a large valley in the high plateaus at the center of Mexico, at an altitude of 2,240 metres (7,350 ft). The city consists of sixteen municipalities (previously called boroughs).
The 2009 estimated population for the city proper was around 8.84 million people, with a land area of 1,485 square kilometres (573 sq mi). According to the most recent definition agreed upon by the federal and state governments, the Greater Mexico City population is 21.2 million people, making it the largest metropolitan area in the western hemisphere, the eleventh-largest agglomeration, and the largest Spanish-speaking city in the world.

Mexico (i/ˈmɛksᵻkoʊ/; Spanish: México [ˈmexiko]), officially the United Mexican States (Spanish: Estados Unidos Mexicanos,
listen ), is a federal republic in North America. It is bordered on the north by the United States; on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico. Covering almost two million square kilometres (over 760,000 sq mi), Mexico is the fifth largest country in the Americas by total area and the 13th largest independent nation in the world. With an estimated population of over 120 million, it is the eleventh most populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world and the second most populous country in Latin America. Mexico is a federation comprising thirty-two states, including Mexico City, its capital and largest city, which is also a state.
A city is a large and permanent human settlement. Although there is no agreement on how a city is distinguished from a town in general English language meanings, many cities have a particular administrative, legal, or historical status based on local law.
Cities generally have complex systems for sanitation, utilities, land usage, housing, and transportation. The concentration of development greatly facilitates interaction between people and businesses, benefiting both parties in the process, but it also presents challenges to managing urban growth.
A big city or metropolis usually has associated suburbs and exurbs. Such cities are usually associated with metropolitan areas and urban areas, creating numerous business commuters traveling to urban centers for employment. Once a city expands far enough to reach another city, this region can be deemed a conurbation or megalopolis. In terms of population, the largest city proper is Shanghai, while the fastest-growing is Dubai.
There is not enough evidence to assert what conditions gave rise to the first cities. Some theorists have speculated on what they consider suitable pre-conditions and basic mechanisms that might have been important driving forces.

Mexico City’s colors run deepest in the main square, the Zócalo, once the epicenter of the Mexican Civilization. Today, this area is presided over by a temple of a different kind, The Metropolitan Cathedral. Throughout the Centro Histórico district, over 1500 heritage buildings vie for your attention. The streets of this district overflow with museums and galleries. For a window into the life and color of yesteryear, visit the fabulous Museo Franz Mayer. For a change of color, head to Chapultepec Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world. The park is home to cultural institutions such as the ...

Life in the Mexican capital throws up many obstacles, but as we found out in the return of our long-running film series, a small number of dedicated people are trying to build an electronic music scene in one of the world's most chaotic cities. Mexico City is one of the largest and most vibrant metropolises in the world, but its electronic music scene has yet to truly flourish. It's a city where vast inequality, crime and widespread corruption are everyday realities, and where nightclubs are largely reserved for the moneyed elites. For those who put music first, there are many obstacles—a lack of venues, a limited audience, very little financial gain. Whether you're putting on parties, releasing music or hustling for gigs, making ends meet is a constant struggle. But the issue also runs ...

It's Saturday morning in a Mexico City subway station, and the members of the Panamiur gang are headed to a party. Their leader, Cidel, is wearing huge sunglasses, a fauxhawk slathered in hair gel, cargo pants, and a T-shirt with a giant 2 and 6 airbrushed across it—a reference to November 26, 2010, the date the Panamiurs were founded. The four dozen kids surrounding Cidel are similarly adorned in fake gold chains, oversize shades, brightly colored baseball caps, and tight jeans. They shout chants at a member of a rival gang on the other side of the platform. "Jori's fucking mom is taking a bath, eh, oh!," they holler. "She's very close to our territory, eh, oh! With a huge dick in one hand and a rag with PVC glue in the other, eh, oh! And the gang says, we are gonna rape her, we are gon...
(La vida en la Ciudad de México) Hola, I'm Nik from Malaysia. I have been living here for almost 5 months now and being an asian (Malay) in Mexico in general was a unique challenge of fitting in at first, but then it turned out really well and a lot simpler than it seemed. Every time my friends asking me about my new life in Mexico, I sometimes lack the right words to convey all I am experiencing. So, here it is, bienvenidos a México! Recorded with iPhone 6.

Travel video about destination Mexico City in Mexico. Mexico City is a vivid metropolis and cosmopolitan city situated on a plateau in the central highlands at an altitude of 2, 286 metres, where the food is spicy and the Tequila flows freely! The city's fascinating history is reflected in both its art and architecture with age old charm, Indian roots and elegant buildings. Until the Spanish conquest, the Templo Mayor was the setting of coronations and human sacrifice. The remains of the walls within which thousands of priests once lived are only a few steps from the buildings of the country's former Spanish conquerors. Construction of the country's largest cathedral, the Catedral Metropolitana, took 250 years. The lower section is quite plain but the upper section is of Baroque and Neo-...

Charlie, a Local Guide from New York City, travels to Mexico City for the first time. There, he meets Ernesto and they explore the city's food scene, climb to the top of a pyramid, and much more.
The main attraction of Mexico is downtown better known as Centro Historico. The beautiful buildings, the history, the archeological site, the museums, the restaurants and hotels are highlights in itself. To walk around in downtown can be overwhelming and confusing, but amazingly it was very well plan so once you get an idea of the main streets and where do they go, you’ll find your way easily. This place was nominated as World Heritage Site by UNEASCO in 1987. and is must see. www.chloevisitsmexicocity.com @Chloeinmexico

While traveling to Mexico City, we saw parks, street vendors, museums, historic places, restaurants, Teotihuacan pyramids, dogs, the Metro, lots of art, and much more. Some of the restaurants we tried included: Casa Virginia, Lalo!, Los Danzantes, Restaurante Oaxaca en Mexico, Contramar, and others. We got around mostly by Uber, lots of walking, and the Metro (subway). Mexico City is a vibrant and very cosmopolitan city. While most "gringos" fear that Mexico City is dangerous and dirty, it is quite the opposite. The city seemed very safe and clean. The parks and walkable neighborhoods are terrific. There are countless coffee shops, restaurants, boutique stores, galleries, museums, and more. We stayed at a fantastic little bed and breakfast called The Red Tree House located in the La Cond...
What a perfect web you weave.
Placed to cloud my eyes.
I wipe away awkward silences with longing words.
In the end there will be words crashing and knees bowing.
Now numb the consequences and repent.
Scream with the sound of a thousand nails being driven through your palms.
Oh Lord, behold my imperfections.
I long to see the day when I kneel before you with a servants heart.
Humilty recieves what truth preclaims.
In the end there will be words crashing and knees bowing.
In the end there will be words crashing and knees bowing.
Oh Lord, behold my imperfections.
Sustain my heart.
Grant me the heart of a servant.
