Pilot most commonly refers to:
The term may also refer to:
An ocean (from Ancient Greek Ὠκεανός, transc. Okeanós, the sea of classical antiquity) is a body of saline water that composes much of a planet's hydrosphere. On Earth, an ocean is one of the major conventional divisions of the World Ocean, which covers almost 71% of its surface. These are, in descending order by area, the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, and Arctic Oceans. The word sea is often used interchangeably with "ocean" in American English but, strictly speaking, a sea is a body of saline water (generally a division of the world ocean) partly or fully enclosed by land.
Saline water covers approximately 72% of the planet's surface (~3.6×108 km2) and is customarily divided into several principal oceans and smaller seas, with the ocean covering approximately 71% of Earth's surface. The ocean contains 97% of Earth's water, and oceanographers have stated that less than 5% of the World Ocean has been explored. The total volume is approximately 1.35 billion cubic kilometers (320 million cu mi) with an average depth of nearly 3,700 meters (12,100 ft).
Christopher Francis "Frank" Ocean (born Christopher Edwin Breaux October 28, 1987), is an American singer, songwriter and rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. Ocean embarked on his musical career as a ghostwriter for several prominent artists, including John Legend, Justin Bieber and Brandy. In 2010, he became a member of alternative hip hop collective OFWGKTA, also known as Odd Future. Ocean subsequently released his breakout mixtape, Nostalgia, Ultra, to critical acclaim in 2011. The singles, "Novacane" and "Swim Good", both achieved chart success. In 2012, Ocean finished in second place in BBC's Sound of 2012 poll.
His debut studio album, Channel Orange, was released in July 2012 to critical acclaim and was promoted with three charting singles: "Thinkin Bout You", "Pyramids" and "Sweet Life". That year, Ocean also became one of the first major African-American music artists to announce that he was on the LGBT spectrum. Ocean's music has been characterized by music writers as idiosyncratic in style.
Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century, first as books of individual 78rpm records, then from 1948 as vinyl LP records played at 33 1⁄3 rpm. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though in the 21st century albums sales have mostly focused on compact disc (CD) and MP3 formats. The audio cassette was a format used in the late 1970s through to the 1990s alongside vinyl.
An album may be recorded in a recording studio (fixed or mobile), in a concert venue, at home, in the field, or a mix of places. Recording may take a few hours to several years to complete, usually in several takes with different parts recorded separately, and then brought or "mixed" together. Recordings that are done in one take without overdubbing are termed "live", even when done in a studio. Studios are built to absorb sound, eliminating reverberation, so as to assist in mixing different takes; other locations, such as concert venues and some "live rooms", allow for reverberation, which creates a "live" sound. The majority of studio recordings contain an abundance of editing, sound effects, voice adjustments, etc. With modern recording technology, musicians can be recorded in separate rooms or at separate times while listening to the other parts using headphones; with each part recorded as a separate track.
Jones may refer to:
Frank Ocean performing Pilot Jones from his album Channel Orange. Performed in Denmark, Tap1, june 27th 2013. The crowd is probably the most annoying crowd I have ever been a part of, so I sincerely excuse the noise and of course the ridiculously bad iphone camera quality. Enjoy!
down in nashville, daniel plays marimba and jimmie plays the metronome as the two do a quick cover of frank ocean's "pilot jones."
swim for the music, that saves you
I would cover every song off of Channel Orange if I could...but these are two of my favorites from the album :) Hope you like it! Follow me on Twitter @ItsMe_KayT & like my Facebook fan-page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kayla-Taitz-Music/151819664918330 Email: kaylataitzmusic@gmail.com

The plane went down just 30 yards off a private beach on Rhode Island, crowded with weekend visitors. The 62-year-old pilot from Long Island, New York, was seen climbing out on the wing of his aircraft after it crashed Saturday. Two lifeguards sprang into action and pulled the pilot on to a surfboard and bring him to shore. One lifeguard was identified as 18-year-old David Darling and it was his first day as a summer lifeguard.

A small private plane drifted into restricted airspace above Washington DC on Saturday. The U.S. Air Force scrambled up two F16s and the jet pilots flew close enough to the plane to see into the cockpit. Upon inspection, the pilot of the Cirrus SR22 plane was observed to be unconscious. The F-16s followed the private plane as it flew away from the U.S. capital and towards the coastline. The plane flew for around 50 miles over the Virginia coast, before it finally ran out of fuel and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter attempted to locate the downed aircraft, but was forced to turn back after finding no sign of the plane. A C-130 plane and a Coast Guard cutter also aided in the search but as night fell, the small aircraft had not been found. ------------...

Another Desert, Another Sea (1997) Lyrics ~ They slept for 12 hours across from the burning sea The night will never let them go Way its the way of the ocean Way there's no way through the ocean They reached for the same ladder and fell into the waves that brought them there on the sea of red I'd better stick to your advice I'm only asking that you hold the reins On day one the wind stole their map By day four we had bought a sword from the sky Can't see six feet Summer heat Can't breathe I'm going west whether land or sea By day nine no land in sight, and for years there's still no light, and I'm going west whether land or sea Way when there's a way through the ocean I'll be living on an island by myself I'll be surrounded by all my failed attempts of escape I'm just waiting for ...

Richard Haines discussing the bizarre incident This fascinating aerial encounter involved Charlie Little, pilot of a Piper-Twin Commanche PA-30 (N7942Y). He was multi-engine rated and a flight instructor. Two other commercially rated pilots, and a passenger were also on board. Having taken off from Opa-Locka, FL to Morristown, NJ, they were headed ENE at 8,000 feet altitude in uncontrolled airspace under an IFR flight plan but were in radio contact with Jacksonville ARTCC for safety reasons. Stars were visible in the dark sky. Ground control helped them maintain a correct heading when their two VORs apparently displayed significantly large angular deviations toward the east. About half-way between Jacksonville and Charleston, SC over the ocean at least three of the occupants saw a light ...
The plane was held over the airport to burn fuel, and the pilot was given the choice to make an emergency landing on the runway or in the water.

The third installment of footage on my visit with the Savannah Pilots brings us on board the container ship Argos. It's day time, and we have great weather for today's run down the Savannah River. Argos is a fairly new ship, having been built in 2011 by Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, China. She weighs in at approximately 50000 tons, is 860 feet in length, 108 feet in breadth, and can carry up to 4253 TEU. She has a B&W; 8K90MC-C, which is rated at 49600 horsepower. This was Argos's first journey to Savannah on her new service route, which is the South Shanghai Express. In the first scene, we see the docking master from Moran as he helps pilot us out of our berth, with the assistance of tractor tug James A. Moran. In the second scene, we're underway in the Savannah River, a...

Bobby White had an 18 year career going as a pilot flying corporate jets all over the world. He was livin’ the dream when one day he woke up with a horrible headache. That headache was actually a brain hemorrhage which forced him to surrender his pilot’s license. His career and way of life ended just like that. Instead of feeling sorry for himself he sold everything he owned and bought a sailboat to embark on another one of his dreams of sailing the oceans. "You will never be ready. Just set a date and make it happen." Just one year ago, him and his friend Megan and their two Labradoodles jumped on that boat, sailed out of Galveston and started filming their journey and they’ve gone from zero to over 40,000 YouTube subscribers and now racking up over a million and a half views pe...
