About the Author
IAN HUTCHINSON'S co-author, Ted Macauley, is a journalist, columnist and broadcaster, and the author of twelve books, most of them on his favourite sport motorcycle racing. He was the legendary Mike Hailwood's manager and organiser of the great man s historic and unforgettable winning comeback at the Isle of Man TT in 1978 and again on his successful return in 1979.
Macauley was awarded the much-prized Seagrave Medal by the Royal Automobile Club, the first journalist to have been so honoured, for his part in Mike the Bike s sensational return to the TT, aged thirty-nine and after an eleven-year absence from the dangerous Mountain Circuit. He was also voted Journalist of the Year.
He is currently F1 writer for the Daily Star Sunday and columnist for Gulf News Dubai after a long term as, first, Motor Cycle Grand Prix specialist, then Formula One reporter and, finally, Chief Sports Feature Writer for the Daily Mirror.

how again he was able to top the podium after 5years of recovery. This book gives us insight into the incredible desire and iron like will of Ian to remain a racer and what it means to him, the passion for racing and the satisfaction of winning after so much sacrifice. Read, enjoy, and prepare to be inspired.
He is obviously, very taleneted and a great rider, who has had some really bad events in his career, but he comes across as arrogant (and to be fair he does make ref to this when talking about fellow riders both now and historically) so I didnt feel I came away from knowing anything you didn't already expect . Nothing personal really comes out from it ... If you want a good motorcycling book, read John McGuinness's Built for Speed which I read just before this one, maybe If id read this one first, but then agian, maybe McPint sets high standards not only in racing .,
