Driver caught reading while driving

Footage has been shared online of a driver reading a book while driving a car.

Despite the woman's vehicle displaying Victorian number plates, the Perth man who posted the video on social media on Thursday claims he filmed the incident on Tonkin Highway earlier in the day.

WA Police have said they did not receive a report about the incident. WAtoday has sent the vision to police.

WAtoday has also contacted the man who posted the vision, to verify the details behind the footage.

It comes after a Perth driver was photographed reading a pamphlet while driving along the Kwinana Freeway in October, and another was spotted reading a supermarket catalogue while travelling at speed along the Mitchell Freeway in August.

To date, there have been 39 deaths on WA roads in 2017.
