What is an Apple ID?
An Apple ID is the personal account you use to access Apple services like the App Store, iTunes Store, iCloud, iMessage, the Apple Online Store, FaceTime, and more. It includes the email address and password you use to sign in, as well as all the contact, payment, and security details that you’ll use across Apple services.
Sign in to your Apple ID on a new device
Sign in with your Apple ID when you first set up your device to access all Apple services. You can also sign in to your Apple ID later in Settings.

Want to share content with friends and family? Don’t share your Apple ID — just set up Family Sharing. This lets you share purchases, photos, a calendar, and more with members of your family across all of your devices.
