A preamble to the Constitution can have an important symbolic affect and it is significant that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be recognised in such a document. This submission to Queensland's Legal, Constitutional and Administrative Review Committee focuses on both the symbolic importance as well as the content and extent of the recognition.
