In focus: Lisa Davies, Editor, Sydney Morning Herald
Lisa Davies was recently appointed editor of the Herald. Exclusively for subscribers, we took ten minutes with Lisa to congratulate her on her appointment and speak to her about her journey in journalism so far.
When did you start working at Fairfax? And what was your first role?
Lisa Davies: I started working at the SMH in January 2012, as Crime Editor. In that role I worked across the SMH and the Sun-Herald, leading a team of about six crime and courts reporters.
How does it feel to be appointed editor of the Herald?
LD: It’s extremely daunting! But I am so passionate about everything we do here, and leading this extremely talented newsroom is as exciting as it is terrifying.
