My Kitchen Rules 2017: Josh's ribbing ends in Court and Duncan being pulled aside by 'uncomfortable' Manu

Show comments

The knives were once again out on Wednesday night's episode of My Kitchen Rules, and not just in the kitchen.

The contestants were in Melbourne for Karen and Ros's instant restaurant round and it took no time at all for them to pour salt on Court and Duncan's wounds. The married 'hipsters' entered this episode at the bottom of the leaderboard after Tuesday night's disaster, and were visibly cut up about it.

MKR: Manu breaks 'uncomfortable' tension

Manu pulls Court and Duncan aside, saying, "I personally felt uncomfortable at this table all night," at Karen and Ros's instant restaurant, Procreations.

As soon as midwives Karen and Ros started prepping their entrees, seafood king Josh starts stirring the pot. He begins by trying to drive a wedge between Della and Court – suggesting Della was critical of Court's cooking behind her back.

Within minutes, Court starts crying and storms off from the table.

"I'm actually sick of all of this shit. I'm sick of f---ing (beep), I'm f---ing over this whole thing," she said. "Just leave me the f--- alone."

Della then fires back at Josh, tearing strips off him for making Court upset.

"Don't pit friends against friends, Josh," she said. "If you think that was easy for Tully and I to watch friends fail, you're kidding yourself. You can be a real jerk when you do that. Court feels like we were being bitchy – not one of us was being bitchy. You don't have to stir the pot."

Away from the dinner table, Court and Duncan consider whether or not to leave the competition. Not even some antics with a helium balloon can cheer the Melbourne couple up, with Court telling Duncan, "F--- this."

"The biggest baby so far at this table has gotta be Court," Josh tells the camera. "If they were at the top of the leaderboard, they wouldn't be acting like this."

But it's after the main course is served that things really start to heat up, with Court tearing up over Karen and Ros's positive critiques from the judges. Manu tries to address the elephant in the room head-on.

"It seems like you're angry and upset," he tells Court.

"It's not easy for us to be here," she replies. "We're not doing it."

Della leans over and tells her to put it all in perspective.

"Don't tell me to have perspective," Court snaps. "I've already f---ing got it."

Manu is forced to intervene, taking Court and Duncan away from their fellow diners.

"Can I speak to both of you please?" he asked. "I'm really not enjoying what's happening right now to be honest with you... I personally felt uncomfortable at this table the whole night."

After what feels like an eternity of talking it out, Court and Duncan eventually agree to return to the dinner table out of respect for Manu and what he has taught them so far. He even gives Court an encouraging kiss on the head.

It's a good thing the couple returned to their seats. When it comes time for the judges to reveal their scores, Pete and Manu don't hold back.

The midwives finish the night with a total score of 67 thanks to their underwhelming entrees, putting them at the bottom of the leaderboard. As a result, Court and Duncan are guaranteed to cook another day.

But unlike the Melbourne hipsters, Karen and Ros don't let their performance get them down.

"It's not the end of the world," Karen said. "We'll keep smiling." Besides, Tully earlier announcing her pregnancy was their "dream (of an MKR baby) come true".
