Hmmm...So the Liverpool wage bill is twice that of Everton, Everton had 4 players playing with a sum total of about 15 games, and Liverpool could bring in a German international and Brazilian international for Lallana and Henderson. Everton were always going to struggle to take anything from the game and Liverpool were easily the better side, but I firmly believe the outlook for Everton is far rosier with a young English squad that will benefit hugely from the experience of this season. LFC on the other hand are full of guns for hire, so will ultimately fall apart soon enough. Don't get me wrong Lukaku is the same and that is why he is not universally loved despite his frightening ability
He had built up a stellar cv with a European heavyweight. As a United supporter we were well aware at just how special he was because all the other team supporters were reminding us with glee on a daily basis!
His fee would be huge for teams other than United or Madrid or Barcelona or City etc but it's a drop in the ocean to those clubs. I'm delighted he's back at United he looks incredible at times.
What are you talking about - all Lingard and Rashford did all game was put their head down and run to the byeline.
No skill, foot on the ball moments, no trickery or intelligent off the ball movement to drag a player away creating space. Just constantly picking the ball up and running straight to the byeline. Call it "direct", i call it shite
Mourinho has never in his career been a player coach, he is a tactical coach. That's all he does. Do the players not get paid millions? Are they not able to hire a one on one coach like ibrahimovic or Ronaldo do to improve their own game?
Tired of players getting molly cuddled and the manager getting instantly blamed when a player decides he doesn't want to try anymore
Complaints air about Mourinho's long ball tactics when chasing a game. It's only, really noticeable when Fellaini is on the pitch and even more so when paired with Zlatan, which makes sense in the final few minutes of a game, but he shouldn't be a starter now that Pogba and Herrera are back. Let him be a plan b or c option, but as an attacking threat he offers nothing near the standard of creativity needed to break down the stubborn defences that come to Old Trafford.
Nice to hear you enjoyed it!!! Pleased to see Origi get some minutes - did you know that he's had less minutes in the PL than Martial this season!?!?!? Don't get used to seeing them around though as Kloppo will probably sell them or loan them out next year, just like he did to nearly all of last seasons crop!!!
One of his former coaches at Anderlecht, I think, recently said that because he was so big and strong at 16/17 (and already scoring), the rest of his game didn't develop enough. Looks like he can bully average defenders but not the better ones, with whom a little more finesse is needed.
Under Moyes, United's away form was on a par with City's, who won the league that season. Since SAF left, United have really struggled to break teams down at OT. The attacking play is so predictable. The modicum of fluidity that evolved during LvG's last season, with Martial and Rashford, was completely undermined by the signing of the dinosaur CF, Zlatan.
Mourinho has regularly ground attacking players into the ground, at every club he's been at. Particularly younger ones. It is therefore not a surprise (to me anyway) that the attacking players at our club are mostly struggling under him. Though, to be honest, I thought it might take a bit longer, into his 2nd season.
Zlatan is not the most creative player at the club. Both Mkhi and Mata are far more creative/inventive than him. But, hey, lets drag Blind off for another midfielder to throw long balls up to Fellaini for the 2nd half instead of bringing Mkhi off the bench. And you think this is thrilling football??????
Coaches can do a lot to help attacking players improve, especially as a group. It seems quite obvious to me that they go out as a bunch of individuals and don't play as a team. There's barely any interplay, no 1-2's and pass and move. The only thing I can see that has been worked on is how to sling in crosses or play a long ball up to Fellaini/Zlatan. And if you're going to do that then it would help to have more than 2 players in the box to aim for, or for the knockdowns. It's utterly pathetic.
Rashford had a bad game, yes. But what do you know about footballing brain? Whoever has been fielded on the left side of United's attack this season has had an impossible game, finding themselves isolated. Notwithstanding the fact that Zlatan makes a concerted effort to ignore Rashford, there is absolutely no fluidity on the left side. Hardly once this season has the fullback overlapped on the outside. And there is no space between the opposition rightback and CF to run into because the patterns of United's attack are so predictable that every team knows that if they close down space on that side, and allow either Valencia to put a cross in from the right or United to shoot from long range, then they will be ok.
I think your team have consistently let you down. They fell apart so quickly again this season after a similarly wonderful start...and as for that semi against Real Madrid last season in what was the strangest display of two bollix devoid outfits begging each other to win.
It simply wasn't. As a rich bastard with BT Sports who watched it we had the benefit of not just replays but a well respected ref to say it was onside and really was a ridiculous decision as he explained how many seminars officials have to do on giving the benefit of any doubt to the attacker. There was nothing but doubt, he was onside, so it was a chalked off perfectly good goal.
What channel did you watch the game on or which stand at old Trafford did you view it? As not a single channel has shown it to be anything other than onside/so much in doubt as to definitely be given the benefit.
Just needs more shooting practice, and another ice cold striker in the mould of Zlatan (if we can find one.) As for the long balls, there weren't many, and most of them were long passes to players.
It was Ruled offside, which is not the same as actually being offside. All the pundits, and Howard Webb, said it definitively was not offside. I was talking about this game, and this game only, beneath a report about...this game. Your argument skips from one point to another, so there's no point in trying to convince you otherwise.
the guy who's shot was goal bound and was saved by the defender Come back and criticize the current Utd. manager when yours wins a league title or 2 perhaps
Not even winning that will make it a successful season given the amount of money he has thrown at winning something proper - or even qualifying as of right for the top European competition.
Man U are in big danger of having a complete mare of a season. If City win today I can't see MU getting 4th. Then it comes down to winning the Europe League.....which is not a given. All that money on players and then signing "the chosen one" and not much to show for it.
If I was a Man U fan I could except the fact that Mou is a grumpy bugger, who publicly slags off young players, who fails to develop young talent, who plays not very exciting football IF Man U were top of the table. However it looks like you will be fighting for 4,5 or even 6th. Thats a total failure IMO. This guy, in so many ways, is so NOT Manchester United.
Spurs transfer success rate is still much higher than United's.
United's transfer policy seems to be run by their marketing department, they've been throwing money at anyone with a name that looks "exotic" on a football shirt.
Well, the chances are that over time, being the top spending club will probably return them to the top. But might take another five years yet if you ask me. Everything happening is all still the post-Fergie crisis. One man at the club, so successful for so long, steps away....it was inevitable. Failing clubs get a 'new manager bounce', well it stands to reason that the opposite is true. It all ripples.
The mistake was throwing the baby out with the bath water - all the old guard coaching staff - to bring in new managers with fundamentally different strategies to Fergusson, an attacking manager who set up teams to play attacking football. Why go out and get not just one but three managers who differ radically in their approach? Moyes is defensive, damage limitation. Mourinho is a pragmatist whose best days came with Drogba up front, bulldozing his way through defences...a la Ibrahimovic now. The strangest choice perhaps was Van Gaal...a manager with a complex 'philosophy' (and character) brought in for essentially (due to his age) a short term role? Crazy really, where was the succession planning? Doesn't seem to have been any, and this is the result.
Ditto on the pitch. The decline of Rooney is bad timing, but that was predictable. Also the end game for people like Carrick, but again, no surprise there. So why set up a similar situation again with bringing in Zlatan at 35 or whatever? And as for the amount of money on Pogba, that was just asking for trouble. For a defensive midfielder? If he was Messi, Ronaldo and Xavi all rolled into one people would say he was over priced. People would be a lot more forgiving of the rebuild if it was a more youthful lineup and fewer players weighted down by massive transfer fees for water-carrier roles.
It's a mess due to mismanagement at board level as much as anything. Nobody up top looking properly at the thread running through the teams. Mourinho will probably get it right....if he gets the time to sign an all new team....
I still don't agree, but it's just my opinion and I've been wrong before!
Hasn't Mourinho also had the opportunity to weed out players too? Mkhitarian didn't feature much in the early part of the season, but I didn't get a sense that the club was trying to force his hand on that. Rooney's on megabucks but I don't know if the club is trying to force Mourinho to pay him every week. Shaw's been frozen out. Seems like Mourinho has the power to weed out players who don't suit his approach (same as he had at Chelsea).
"What Poch wouldn't want is a soap opera team, which is what MUtd has become" - The soap opera is created by the media, fans, and Mourinho - I don't think the club itself is so bad.
Poch is doing great, is growing a team with great promise, and I truly hope he sticks with it. Personally I would stick with it, rather than go into the pressure cauldron of ManU - but then I'm the kind of guy who thrives on low expectations, fun projects, and making do with what I've got. But Poch was a high-performing player and he's now a high performing manager, and they tend to want to prove themselves at the highest level, even if it incurs high pressure and high risk. Man United are among the top clubs in the world for fans and financial muscle - why would ANY ambitious manager turn down an offer from them? I just don't think that's their mentality
A lot seems to be riding on the Europa now. If United manage to win that Jose can call it a successful season; if not, the fans will be mutinous. Again.
Is it all now starting to officially go pear-shaped for our Jose, particularly with the news that LVG had a higher points total, at this stage of the season. And whither Marcus, and Anthony? And, perhaps more importantly, when can we expect Round Two in the Conor McNamara-Jose interviews?
Why are you bringing up Liverpool? Surely a proper comparison to make would be with another club who have spent over half a billion quid to buy success?
'As a City fan I wouldn't have Jose manage my team even if he was the last manager on earth and players like Fellaini wouldn't get in our match day 18 in any circumstance , no fucking way'
Strange comment, as you as you 'a fan' don't get to make those decisions.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s late penalty rescues Manchester United against Everton

Hope so m8
Team Zlatan is a threat tho, even for our #5th placed trophy now =)
Over what period? 24 months then maybe, any longer than that you're having a giggle.
You seem confused - Liverpool can still sign players for the academy
But has scored a lot more goals.
Makes the record sums spent on Martial seen like a waste, so thanks for bringing that up!! Haha
Hmmm...So the Liverpool wage bill is twice that of Everton, Everton had 4 players playing with a sum total of about 15 games, and Liverpool could bring in a German international and Brazilian international for Lallana and Henderson. I'll give you two from this season alone:

Actually Kloppo might not let them leave as the academy will dry up for a couple of years with this news:-
Liverpool banned from signing academy players and fined £100,000
Nice to hear you enjoyed it!!! Pleased to see Origi get some minutes - did you know that he's had less minutes in the PL than Martial this season!?!?!? A good number of other players do that week in week out in the PL, only difference being they cost about half as much as Pogba did.
Just needs more shooting practice, and another ice cold striker in the mould of Zlatan (if we can find one.) As for the long balls, there weren't many, and most of them were long passes to players.
If you shoot your shot, it doesnt count unless you score. You dont get points for effort.
Haha! That made me laugh.
Still have a week in South Africa, enjoying definitely the word here :)
Mourinho just doesnt know what to do with young attacking talent. He usually rely on experienced players for goals and playmaking.

Huge MU supporter here never liked him being hired, totally useless, egomaniac, still doesn't know his best team and not a good player manager
the guy who's shot was goal bound and was saved by the defender
Come back and criticize the current Utd. manager when yours wins a league title or 2 perhaps
Not even winning that will make it a successful season given the amount of money he has thrown at winning something proper - or even qualifying as of right for the top European competition.
Then again he could discover, late in life, that he'd always felt that he was a woman inside.
Err? You do know it's now April?
In danger?
so if he benched Martial and Mikhi after West Brom, surely he will bench Ibra after last night.
.which is not a given-can you tell us anything that is?
Do you have data to back up your tale

Look at Chelsea after Mourinho and look at United with Mourinho.
Chelsea is flying, United is dying.
31 years.
You'll get there soon enough.

Oh dear.
The stats get worse.
The home win % of United managers in the Prem are as follows.
Taggart 75%
Long Ball Louis 68%
Dithering Dave 44%
The Special One 38%
And you're happy? You're very easily please old chap.
A lot seems to be riding on the Europa now. If United manage to win that Jose can call it a successful season; if not, the fans will be mutinous. Again.
No shit ? I thought I personally decided who the manager is - thanks for clearing that out for me .
I don't give a hot fuck
Is it all now starting to officially go pear-shaped for our Jose, particularly with the news that LVG had a higher points total, at this stage of the season. And whither Marcus, and Anthony?
And, perhaps more importantly, when can we expect Round Two in the Conor McNamara-Jose interviews?
Look on the bright side- that's three matches in which Koeman can't select three centre backs.
Why bring up Liverpool? For the same reason you keep banging on about anything United. It gets your attention. See? worked again.
Thankfully our record away from Old Trafford in the league is better than it is at home.
Since the loss to Chelsea in October we've won 6 out of 8 away from home, but have only manged 4 wins out of 12 at OT.
Why are you bringing up Liverpool? Surely a proper comparison to make would be with another club who have spent over half a billion quid to buy success?
Makes up for the several offside goals you have been awarded this season. Tough.
