Stan Laurel (born Arthur Stanley Jefferson; 16 June 1890 – 23 February 1965) was an English comic actor, writer and film director, most famous for his role in the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. With his comedy partner Oliver Hardy he appeared in 107 short films, feature films and cameo roles.
Laurel began his career in the British music hall, from where he took a number of his standard comic devices: the bowler hat, the deep comic gravity, and the nonsensical understatement. His performances polished his skills at pantomime and music hall sketches. Laurel was a member of "Fred Karno's Army," where he was Charlie Chaplin's understudy. The two arrived in the US on the same ship from Britain with the Karno troupe. Laurel began his career in films in 1917 and made his last appearance in 1951. From 1928 onwards he appeared exclusively with Oliver Hardy. Following his comedy partner's death in 1957 Laurel officially retired from the screen.
In 1961, Laurel was given a Lifetime Achievement Academy Award for his pioneering work in comedy. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7021 Hollywood Blvd. In a 2005 UK poll to find the Comedians' Comedian, Laurel and Hardy ranked top among best double acts and seventh overall. In 2009, a bronze statue of the duo was unveiled in Laurel's hometown of Ulverston, Cumbria.

The Leiden International Film Festival recently requested a version of this montage to screen at their festival. This was an extremely humbling request that I was more than happy to accommodate. This is the version the festival received. There are some notable changes, some low resolution clips swapped out but overall, this is the best and FINAL version of this montage. The response to this, both positive and negative has been tremendous. I mention negative because the criticisms helped me to grow as an editor and realize that no matter what, you truly can't please everyone. Thanks so much again everyone for checking out this montage. I really appreciate it. FILM CLIPS USED 1878 - Eadweard J. Muybridge - Pioneer of Motion Photography 1895 - Auguste & Louis Lumière- Sortie des Usines Lu...

There's a new movie opening in theaters this weekend called For Greater Glory. Normally I don't endorse or recommend movies, but this one is very timely given our current struggles to protect religious liberty from government encroachment. For Greater Glory is the story of the Cristero War, fought from 1926 to 1929 by devout Catholic rebels against the Mexican government's attempt to secularize the country.
Many Tea Partiers think Glenn Beck is a constitutionalist. Then they find out he was in favor of the Patriot Act and the bank bailouts. His followers then defend the un-defendable and protect Beck rather than their ideals. This is how the NWO corrupts us. We naturally follow "leaders", and "authorities" rather than IDEAS. If Beck truly believed in God given, natural rights he would have never considered supporting collectivist legislation. This happens with supporters of Alex Jones, and Ron Paul. If the goal is sovereignty from central bankers, why don't either ever talk about the Star on the back of a buck? Paul would talk about 9.11 truth, else he's just another politician. Meanwhile, many 9.11 truthers can't get face any criticism of their "man-god". They have given up their ideals i...

Hal Roach, Jim Bacon, Lo...

[Bird Indian John]
Once upon a time
When I traveled to this land
No money in my pocket
No weapon in my hand
A new land full of secrets
Where once I feared to cross
I don't hide anymore
I found what I have lost
The seagulls in the sky
The music of the sea
They blend a mystic chant
To reach infinity
The rain fall in the woods
I stare at mother moon
My soul will meet you soon
Forever in deep blue
Into that black old ship I wondered: "Who am I?"
I realized, now I could find my mother land, I had my chance
So many miles away I crossed to find myself
But still I don't know why I was given a chance
I found my way back home when Iara took my life
The reason I won't find
In my dreams, I couldn't see
My way to light, my heart was blind
All my life was do or die
But I could learn that time washes away your past
So many miles away I crossed to lose my pride
I gave my life away and found my paradise
Sometimes you need to trust in destiny to rise
And reasons you will never find
In my dreams I couldn't see
My way to light, my heart was blind
I don't know what future holds
But I can wait for my time
You have been blessed by the miracle of nature
LIBERTY - SET ME FREE
IN THE RIVER I'M GOING TO DARKNESS
TO FIND MY WAY TO THE LIGHT
DON'T REGRET - FLAWS OF PAST
TAKE THE CHANCE TO RESTART
AND BE TRUE TO YOUR HEART
AND AGAIN YOU'LL HAVE... LIBERTY
All I have lived it seems to be only a dream
And now I found a reason to believe
Once I had my doubts, but I let my river flow
In my heart I believed - Now it's real!
I had my secrets but I couldn't save myself
Love is the key to find what you have lost in your life
You have been blessed by the miracle of nature
LIBERTY - SET ME FREE
IN THE RIVER I'M GOING TO DARKNESS
TO FIND MY WAY TO THE LIGHT
DON'T REGRET - FLAWS OF PAST
TAKE THE CHANCE TO RESTART
AND BE TRUE TO YOUR HEART
AND AGAIN YOU'LL HAVE...
LIBERTY - SET ME FREE
IN THE RIVER I'M GOING TO DARKNESS
TO FIND MY WAY TO THE LIGHT
DON'T REGRET - FLAWS OF PAST
TAKE THE CHANCE TO RESTART
AND BE TRUE TO YOUR HEART
AND AGAIN YOU'LL HAVE... LIBERTY
Liberty - Set me free
To my paradise I go
Liberty - Set me free
