Victoria University’s annual 'I Plan a Business' (iPAB) competition gives you the chance to apply your creativity and business skills to win amazing prizes.

The competition is open to Year 10 and 11 business students in secondary schools across Victoria.

Business or social enterprise categories

To enter the iPAB competition, you must create a business plan for an original business or social enterprise.

Category 1: Business

  • Division A: Open to individual Year 10 or 11 students in Victoria
  • Division B: Open to groups of Year 10 or 11 students in Victoria (maximum of 4 per group).

Category 2: Social enterprise

  • Division C: Open to individual or group of Year 10 or 11 students in Victoria (maximum of 4 per group).

Year 10 and 11 students can enter the iPAB competition for free.

You can enter by yourself or as a team of up to four people.

The 2018 iPAB competition is open. Entries close on Friday 29 June 2018 at 5pm.

Awards

$500 gift cards are awarded to the winners in each division.

An additional bonus prize valued at $1000 will be awarded to a student who has already begun to make their ideas come to life.

The bonus prize has been generously donated by VU’s Entrepreneur in Residence Gus Balbontin (of the VU Hanger).

Previous winners

In 2017, nearly 300 business students from 34 schools across Victoria competed.

Winning business or social enterprise ideas included:

  • translator watch
  • vegan food vending machine
  • artificial year-round outdoor ski slope created with innovative snow technology
  • drive through supermarket
  • ‘pay it forward’ restaurant where patrons could pre-purchase a meal for someone in need.
