Events

Victoria University Research Festival

The annual Research Festival is a two-week celebration of VU’s research talent and achievements. The program includes events for staff, students, industry and the community. The 2016 festival runs from 17 - 28 October and most events are free.

Three minute thesis (3MT) competition

The 3MT competition invites graduate students to present a three-minute speech on their thesis topic and its significance to the wider community.

Five minute research pitch (5RP)

The 5RP competition involves researchers delivering a short, 5 minute presentation of a current research project. VU hosted the 2014 National Final.

The VU Research Champion Seminar series

The VU Research Champion Seminar series is an opportunity to help build the research culture at VU and spread stories of success. The seminar speakers will talk about their research achievements, some of their most important learnings, share useful tips (and entertaining anecdotes) and advise how to succeed in finding research partners.

Since The Conversation launched in March 2011, Victoria University academics have written over 300 articles read by more than 1.2 million people. Research plan

The VU Research Plan 2012-2016 continues to support the strategic development of multidisciplinary research in specialised areas. The plan establishes a framework to guide the University's development and investment in research from 2012-2016.

VU research mailing lists

'Research Info' is an internal Victoria University email list used for the distribution of research related information and discussion. It is essential that all VU staff and students engaged in research subscribe to this service. This list is moderated to ensure only relevant material is posted.
