Search resumes for man lost at sea off Denmark after saving girlfriend

A search has resumed on Monday morning off the coast of Denmark in WA's Great Southern for a 31-year-old man swept off rocks into the sea on Saturday afternoon.

The man and his 21-year-old girlfriend are thought to have been fishing when large swells knocked them into the water near Boat Harbour, east of Peaceful Bay.

Man lost at sea after saving girlfriend

Police divers have arrived from Perth to join the desperate search for a 31-year-old man missing off the coast of Denmark. Vision: Today Perth News.

The woman managed to get to shore herself but the man is still missing.

A search was called off overnight due to 'atrocious' weather conditions with big swells and high winds hampering efforts to find him.

Police, SES and SES and the Volunteer Marine Rescue resumed a full land, sea and air search on Sunday.

The woman is recovering in hospital.
