Brad Galloway and Volksfront

What is the Status of Volksfront in Canada?

The question might be a bit more complicated than it would appear based on the the apparent status of Volksfront internationally.

Or it might not be complicated at all.

While reading the most recent issue of the SPLC's "Intelligence Report" regarding the apparent collapse of Volksfront in the United States in part due to this incident) and overseas, we found the following excerpt to be especially interesting:

In late 2009, Krager, [the founder of Volksfront] who is a heating, ventilation and air conditioning specialist, was hired by a civilian contractor in Afghanistan. When he departed, as shown in E-mails hacked by opponents of VF, he left the U.S. organization in the hands of Corey “Spider” Miller, VF’s security chief and Krager’s designated heir; Justin Martin, the group’s vice president; Paul Alfich, VF’s treasurer; and Brad Galloway, head of the VF Vancouver chapter in Canada. Within months, however, Alfich and Galloway were dropped from VF’s leadership core.

The hate groups in British Columbia always seemed to be a lot more discrete than their counterparts in Alberta for whom there was a certain, and quite honestly justified, loathing, so we've always had some difficulty trying to get decent intel on the membership. That said, we think we might be able to speculate as to the reasons why Galloway was dropped from the Volksfront leadership core when Krager left to work as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan.

The photograph to the left is the earliest of Brad Galloway that we have in our collection, at least regarding his involvement in organized racism. Galloway, who originally was from Toronto, was a member of an Ontario-based hate group known as the Tri-City Skins who's best known member was James Scott Richardson (Richardson, along with Alexan Kulbashian, also founded another group known by the charming name, the Canadian Ethnic Cleansing Team). Galloway's background at this time is a little sketchy. It was rumored that his father was involved in some way with CSIS and that he left Toronto in what has been described as, "weird circumstances." What is clear though is that he wasn't entirely trusted; members of the Hammerskins in Ontario were suspicious of him and that, according to a source, "couple heavy hitters out there wanted to hurt him badly." We aren't privy to the reasons behind the animosity towards Galloway and whether this information is accurate or not Galloway did leave the city and disappeared for a time only to pop up in British Columbia.

Wade Michael Page: Deranged Loner or Part of a Bigger Problem?

Our friends at OPP have been at work and have proven that Wade Michael Page wasn't only a neo-Nazi band member, but a full-on member of one of the United States' most infamous and violent hate groups:

When it was learned that Wade Michael Page was the shooter at a Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, just as quickly news came out that he was in a number of WP bands. But more information has come out that says the original belief that he was not part of any actual hate group is very, very wrong.

One People's Project

OAK CREEK, WI--The shooter in the shooting at a Sikh Temple in suburban Milwaukee that killed six people before police gunned him down has been identified as Wade Michael Page, a member of the Hammerskin Nation HSN, the oldest and most violent neo-Nazi bonehead organization in the United States.

Vancouver: Community Action Against Racism

Postmedia News March 14, 2012

A small group of anti-racist protesters demonstrated outside Vancouver provincial court on Monday drawing attention to a court case involving alleged members of a hate group.

Robertson Conley Trimble de Chazal, 25, and Alastair Michaelson Miller, 20, had their next court dates set for March 19 and April 2, respectively.

Both face assault charges for an alleged incident in which a Filipino man was set on fire as he lay on an abandoned couch in September 2009.

An anti-racism group has identified de Chazal and Miller as members of the international white supremacist group Blood and Honour.

"We would like this group to be dissolved," protester Krystle Alarcon told the Vancouver Province.

"We would like (de Chazal and Miller) to be convicted for assaulting people of colour in Vancouver, and we would like to see racism in general stop," said Alarcon, a member of the Philippine Women's Centre.

"We see that assault (of the Filipino man on the couch) as a racist act."

Alarcon said she was disappointed that it has taken three years for the men's case to get this far. No trial date has been set.

The Indigenous Action Movement supported Alarcon's group at the protest.

Const. Terry Wilson of the B.C. Hate Crime Team declined to comment on the case, saying he is expecting to be called as a witness.

Last December, Wilson said his team had disrupted Blood and Honour.

"Through the course of these investigations, we've been disruptive in that organization and its membership has dwindled," Wilson told reporters at a news conference called to draw attention to racist groups operating in B.C.

Rob de Chazal: The Lemire Connection

A friend forwarded us a number of interesting screen shots from some of the hacked emails, including those from Kermit the Frog impersonator Bill Noble.

Since one of our focuses is currently on Rob de Chazal (who, along with Shawn Macdonald and Alastair Miller, is accused of a series of assaults), we did a little search and were surprised at what we found because it was really quite unexpected.

Back in late 2004, former WCFU co-founder and leader Glenn Bahr decided that he was going to engage in a massive (from his standpoint) flyering campaign to get out the "White Nationalist" message which would take place on January 15, 2005:

On this Stormfront thread, Bahr and other "White Nationalists" discuss how they will proceed and, once the campaign was over, brag about the success:

De Chazal and Miller Court Apperance

Vancouver protesters confront alleged supremacists

Last Updated: February 13, 2012 8:48pm

VANCOUVER -- Dozens of protesters confronted two suspected white supremacists outside court Monday as the pair faced aggravated assault charges for alleged hate crimes.

Robertson De Chazal and Alastair Miller, both of Vancouver, are alleged to have set a Filipino man on fire in 2009, as the victim lay sleeping on a discarded couch.

In the same year, De Chazal, 25, was also charged with another count of aggravated assault for allegedly rendering a black man unconscious. Police allege that he, along with Miller, are part of the organized hate group, Blood and Honour.

“It’s not necessarily a victory that they might go to jail for a year, two months, or 20 years, I oppose their existence as a whole,” said a masked protester who identified himself as Poncho.

“We’re covering our faces because we live in a lot of the same neighbourhoods where a lot of these people live and we plan to keep organizing against them.”

Poncho, who handed out pamphlets detailing allegations against the accused, was one of a few dozen protesters crowded outside courthouse doors.

Protesters held up a sign adorned with a crossed-out swastika, with the words “Nazi scum f--- off.”

Both De Chazal and Miller are next expected to appear in court March 12.

The "Vancouver Observer" also provides very good coverage:

CBC Radio Covers Nazi Leaks

"Cyber Hate"

UPDATE: The CBC covered the fallout of the Nazi hack revelations, contacting a number of those individuals who's names, email and home addresses, and phone numbers were released.

And surprisingly (or not) one of them is friends with a Free Dominion regular. Now, we certainly will not suggest that the good folks at Free Dominion support the views of those individuals who's identities were revealed. We just find it.... interesting.

CBC Discusses Nazi Hack

We alluded to this in the previous post. This evening an investigative report by the CBC has helped to expose the views of the boneheads we cover here. The focus of the story was on the hacked emails and websites that were published not long ago.

We were sent some of these files independently by our friends in Europe and North America. And while we don't plan on publishing anything from those files right now, they certainly have resulted in a number of new lines of inquiry. Here are a few initial observations:
  • The racist movement in Canada is fractured as hell. There is even more infighting and paranoia than we had thought there was (and we already knew there was a lot). Members of even the same groups turn on each other at the drop of the hat. Yeah, we know that it doesn't seem like we're telling our readers anything new, but it really is far more prevalent than even we had expected.
  • For all their talk of family and the "14 words," the racist movement is rife with infidelity, domestic abuse and cheating the system (i.e. welfare fraud)
  • Violence and support for violence is endemic. In spite of (or perhaps because of) the factionalism that exists, these people are extremely dangerous.
  • On a specific note, we know that when Kyle McKee was on the run from the police that he was eventually picked up in Winnipeg. What we learned confirmed our suspicion that the person he was staying with was Bill Noble.
And Bill, you really aren't helping your case all that much when you do interview but please keep it up because it makes our job a lot easier.

The names of dozens of alleged white supremacists in Canada are contained in files leaked by computer hackers in Europe intent on exposing hate movements, CBC News has learned.

The alleged white supremacists' names were revealed earlier this month by members of a loose-knit group of hackers called Anonymous on a website called nazi-leaks.net, which is now offline.

Christie and Macdonald Confronted During Court Appearance

First, we got to say Shawn, you aren't fooling anyone with that beard.

We're not claiming that he's looks like Saddam Hussein. We're just noting that in this picture, Shawn bares a striking similarity to the late Iraqi dictator.

Oh, we guess we are saying that he looks like Hussein. Just a little. Right?

Second, you're starting to show your age. Ever consider Just For Men?

Our friends in Vancouver published an article today and posted a video to YouTube.

You tell us. Does the guy being interviewed (not Christie, of course) look like an either D.A. or E.A.?

Vancouver Anti-Racists Confront Neo-Nazi at Court Appearance

Approximately 25 anti-racists attended the Friday, January 27, court appearance of Shawn MacDonald (39), a member of the neo-Nazi group Blood and Honour charged with three assaults against people of colour in the Vancouver area.

No One Is Illegal Vancouver Statement: Blood & Honour Assaults

We were asked if we would be interested in posting the article below by No One Is Illegal.

We are and here it is. :)

No One Is Illegal on White Supremacist Hate Crimes

Posted by admin on Jan 26th, 2012

This Friday January 27th Shawn MacDonald appears in Court at 222 Main Street (at Cordova) at 9am. NOII members are planning to attend court, but since it is a work-day we would like to ensure there are enough numbers. Please RSVP to noii-van@resist.ca if you can join us, we encourage white allies to be present and people of colour to break the fear, silence, and invisibility with us.

No One Is Illegal Statement on Blood and Honour White Supremacist Hate Crimes

No One is Illegal-Vancouver, Coast Salish Territories is a grassroots anti-colonial and anti racist migrant justice group. As a multiracial movement led by people of colour, we are outraged to hear of the rise of overt white supremacist groups in the Lower Mainland. In the past month, it has come to light that at least three men, Robertson de Chazal, Shawn Donald Finlay MacDonald, and Alastair Miller with known links to Blood and Honour are being charged in a number of violent assaults and hate crimes from 2008-2010 against a Filipino man who was set on fire, a Black man, a Latino man, and an Indigenous woman.

Rob De Chazal and Alastair Miller Made Court Appearance Today

De Chazal and Miller will next appear in court on February 13, but in the meantime a little more information about the attack on the Filipino man has been released.

It's alleged that De Chazal and Miller were having a party on a rooftop terrace overlooking the street where the incident took place. When the Filipino man lay down on the discarded sofa, De Chazal and Miller are believed to have gone outside and set the man on fire. When a good Samaritan (who was black) tried to help, he was assaulted and called at least one racial epithet.

This is what we've been told, however we will know more when the details are covered in the media.

UPDATE: Story carried covered on the CBC.

Man set on fire in spontaneous attack, witnesses said

Witnesses claim two alleged members of a white supremacist group charged with a racially motivated assault spontaneously targeted a Filipino man they saw sleeping on a discarded couch, CBC News has learned.

Alleged Racial Assault Caught on Video; Macdonald Suspect

First, we're going to play Devil's advocate for a moment because some of our readers have noted the last sentence of the article:

MacDonald has not been convicted of any of the charges. He also has no proven association with the Blood and Honour organization.

Seems patently ridiculous when, well, we look at this:

But we think that we all need to consider that any allegation needs to be proven when the case goes to trial, even something as seemingly self-evident as Macdonald's group affiliation. So we're going to cut the CBC some slack here.

There are two videos in the following article. The first is a 24 second clip of the assault itself and a bit of the aftermath. The second part of the video provides the background of the story and includes more photos taken from the ARC blog:

Warning: violent content

CBC News has released a video showing a black Vancouver man being beaten by an alleged white supremacist who has since been charged in connection with a string of apparently racially motivated attacks.

A CBC News videographer happened upon an apparent road-rage incident while on duty on Vancouver’s West Side in December 2008.

Court Dates For Blood & Honour Members Postponed

The hearing for Rob de Chazal and Alastair Miller has been scheduled for January 23. Shawn Macdonald's hearing will take place on January 27.

Now we can't say how Miller and Macdonald will defend themselves, but it appears that part of de Chazal's defence will be that he is not a neo-Nazi and that language describing him as such is prejudicial:

All Is Quiet In "White Nationalist" Land: Part III

We've twice (here and here) alluded to something rather odd happening on the Blood & Honour forums (as opposed to the Blood and Honour International/Combat 18 forums). Given that three of their own have been accused of and arrested for a series of assaults in Vancouver, one might expect something about this would be discussed on their website.

And there was a thread created to discuss it. Briefly. So briefly we didn't get the screen shots before the thread "mysteriously" disappeared.

Well, it really isn't all that much of a mystery. Shawn Macdonald, one of the men accused in the series of assaults in Vancouver, is also a moderator on the forums. It appears that he, or someone acting for him, made the offending thread disappear. This is evidenced by the last time Shawn logged in to the forum:

B&H;/Combat 18 Member: "We send bombs and take action...."

Our readers who might swing by the Stormfront forums once in a while will all be able to relate to this story. You find a thread that was obviously edited clumsily by a Stormfront moderator. There are statements which, devoid of context, make no sense. There are quoted sections appearing in other messages that are still there, but the original has disappeared. There are comments telling people to chill out and referring to posters who, again, are no longer present in the discussion as class acts and warriors for the cause. And, without a doubt, you will find at least once poster who has had his posting privileges removed for some unknown infraction.

Sort of like this discussion here which is a disjointed mess.

And, if you're like us, you wish that you had been able to read those posts which have been removed because you just know something juicy was written that might be really embarrassing to some people. You kick yourself thinking, "if only I had gotten there sooner...."

So, should we stop teasing you?

Turns Out We Do Have Information On Alastair Miller

We dug up some of these photos that we had forgotten about. Miller is beside de Chazal:

We're sure that our readers will note the irony of these two photos given the backdrop (certainly no thinking person would consider them POWs, but we await the NSBM benefit concert held on their behalf which will claim them as such).

We also had this poster sent to us a while back:

All Is Quiet In "White Nationalist" Land: Part I

So as we often do, we checked out the white supremacist forums to see what is being said about the arrest of the three Blood & Honour members in BC.

After all, we all know that if the accused were of non-European heritage, the denizens of Stormfront and VNN would be all over it and claiming the crime as further evidence that "Whites" can't coexist in a society with 'dem ethnics.

Would it surprise our readers that not much has been posted about the crimes that Macdonald, de Chazal and Miller are accused of? Of course you aren't!

Alastair Miller Named as Third Man Arrested in B&H; Vancouver Arrests

We have to admit that while we have recently Alastair Miller's name associated with the alleged string of assaults tied to Blood & Honour in BC, we know almost nothing about him aside from the name (and we only learned two nights ago):
A second man is facing charges related to a 2009 attack in Vancouver, in which a sleeping Filipino man was set on fire.

Alastair Miller, 20, has been charged with aggravated assault, a week after similar charges were brought against Robertson de Chazal, 25, for the same incident.
