A production company provides the physical basis for works in the realms of the performing arts, new media art, film, television, radio, and video.
The production company may be directly responsible for fundraising for the production or may accomplish this through a parent company, partner, or private investor. It handles budgeting, scheduling, scripting, the supply with talent and resources, the organization of staff, the production itself, post-production, distribution, and marketing.
Production companies are often either owned or under contract with a media conglomerate, film studio, entertainment company, or Motion Picture Company, who act as the production company's partner or parent company. This has become known as the "studio system". They can also be mainstream, independent (see Lucasfilms), or completely independent (see Lionsgate). In the case of TV, a TV production company would serve under a television network. Production companies can work together in co-productions.
Video production is the process of creating video by capturing moving images (videography), and creating combinations and reductions of parts of this video in live production and post-production (video editing). In most cases the captured video will be recorded on electronic media such as video tape, hard disk, or solid state storage, but it might only be distributed electronically without being recorded. It is the equivalent of filmmaking, but with images recorded electronically instead of film stock.
Practically, video production is the art and service of creating content and delivering a finished video product. This can include production of television programs, television commercials, corporate videos, event videos, wedding videos and special-interest home videos. A video production can range in size from a family making home movies with a prosumer camcorder, a one solo camera operator with a professional video camera in a single-camera setup (aka a "one-man band"), a videographer with a sound person, to a multiple-camera setup shoot in a television studio to a production truck requiring a whole television crew for an electronic field production (EFP) with a production company with set construction on the backlot of a movie studio.
A company is an association or collection of individuals, whether natural persons, legal persons, or a mixture of both. Company members share a common purpose and unite in order to focus their various talents and organize their collectively available skills or resources to achieve specific, declared goals. Companies take various forms such as:
A company or association of persons can be created at law as legal person so that the company in itself can accept Limited liability for civil responsibility and taxation incurred as members perform (or fail) to discharge their duty within the publicly declared "birth certificate" or published policy.
Because companies are legal persons, they also may associate and register themselves as companies – often known as a corporate group. When the company closes it may need a "death certificate" to avoid further legal obligations.

Your video production company has started so now it's time to start earning revenue. Cash flow is your company's oxygen; it keeps you in the game. 1. Build A Portfolio? First, they don't want to take the risk on your ass who has nothing to show for. You are going to need a portfolio or demo reel. Don't have one? Start filming projects as soon as possible. Shoot fake commercials, do free gigs until you have a portfolio that you can show clients. 2. Start with Family and Friends They are going to be the first people that hire you. Start with them and see if they can lead you to the next client. They will always have connections. 3. Free work, Spec work, Reduced-Rate This is the risky part of the first 100 days but it may be the thing to get a project started. It shows off your capabi...

Having the motivation and a clear sense of its importance can help ensure a launch to success. 1. Be Your Own Boss. It’s time that you start blazing your own trail. Everything in life has been predetermined for you. It’s always been safe. Starting a production company is a way to lead your pack. Take the risk of being an entrepreneur. I have always hated the “corporate ladder” of filmmaking. You have to start as a PA and work your way up to 1st Assistant, get to know the Execs and (maybe) you’ll get to be the Director. 2.
