Ten people have been killed and many more injured in a bomb blast in the Russian city of St Petersburg. The explosion ripped through the city's metro system in the mid-afternoon local time. The country's Prime Minister has called the incident a terrorist attack but authorities say they are considering all possibilities.

The cyclone-ravaged Whitsunday Islands are still trying to get back up and running for the upcoming busy Easter Holiday season. But some tourists who were stuck on Daydream Island during the storm are preparing a formal complaint against the resort over how cyclone preparations and evacuations were managed. Senior staff from the resort also they'll never work for it again after how they were treated.

University of Melbourne researchers have found exposing children to CT scans is increasing their risk of developing cancer. In fact, each additional scan increases the risk by 16 per cent. The scientists want doctors to weigh up the radiation risk before they order a scan for a child.

Several experts have told AM Australia's household debt, already at record levels, continues to grow at an alarming rate, far outpacing the rise in wages. Data taken from Australia's National Debt Helpline show the number of people in financial distress growing at a rate of 20 per cent per month. Analysts warn even a series of small interest rate increase from the big four banks would cause widespread financial pain.

A One Nation co-founder has accused the party of abandoning him with huge debts from when he was jailed alongside Pauline Hanson. In 2003, David Ettridge and Pauline Hanson were imprisoned for electoral fraud but released months later after their convictions were quashed by a Queensland Court. He says his legal ordeal cost him his house and his personal wealth. Mr Ettridge is now seeking compensation from One Nation. He's one of a number of former officials and candidates speaking out about the party's administration.

Tibet's spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has again angered China's leadership, visiting part of India which China claims as its own. Tibetan exiles warn Beijing is using similar tactics to its territorial claims in the South China Sea, but say so long as India provides refuge, the Dalai Lama will keep campaigning for Tibetan autonomy.
