Smiths or Smith's may refer to:
A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors. Films may be of recent date and, depending upon the festival's focus, can include international and domestic releases. Some festivals focus on a specific film-maker or genre (e.g., film noir) or subject matter (e.g., horror film festivals). A number of film festivals specialise in short films of a defined maximum length. Film festivals are typically annual events. Some film historians do not consider Film Festivals as official releases of film, like Jerry Beck. The best known film festivals are the Venice Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, the latter being the largest film festival worldwide, based on attendance. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest major festival. The Melbourne International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world. A 2013 study found 3,000 active films festivals worldwide—active defined as having held an event in the previous 24 months.
The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. The band consisted of vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce. Critics have called them the most important alternative rock band to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980s. Q magazine's Simon Goddard argued in 2007 that The Smiths were "the one truly vital voice of the '80s", "the most influential British guitar group of the decade" and the "first indie outsiders to achieve mainstream success on their own terms". The NME named the Smiths the "most influential artist ever" in a 2002 poll.
Based on the songwriting partnership of Morrissey and Marr, the group signed to the independent record label Rough Trade Records, on which they released four studio albums, The Smiths (1984), Meat Is Murder (1985), The Queen Is Dead (1986) and Strangeways, Here We Come (1987). Four of their albums (including three studio albums) appeared on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. They have also released several compilations, and numerous non-LP singles.
Sam Smith may refer to:
A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.

The First in a series of short films, aiming to give viewers an intimate view of wild habitats across the U.K, without the use of narration or a definitive plot, allowing viewers to take what they want from the footage, illustrating as closely as possible what it is like to explore the habitat first hand. The next film will be shot on the Exe estuary in Devon, and will play host to an entirely different cast of wildlife & habitats. The film was shot in September 2013 in Argyll forest park. All footage was shot in raw on the 50D and 5D mkii - using the magic lantern hack. Footage was debayered using AE to Prores 444, edited in PrPro & exported. Audio is a mixture of foley sound and audio recorded in camera. Music: This Will Destroy You - Killed The Lord, Left For The New World Camera:...

During the 1920s, cinematographer Claude Friese-Greene travelled across the UK with his new colour film camera. His trip ended in London, with some of his most stunning images, and these were recently revived and restored by the BFI, and shared across social media and video websites. Since February I have attempted to capture every one of his shots, standing in his footsteps, and using modern equivalents of his camera and lenses. This has been a personal study, that has revealed how little London has changed. www.mrsimonsmith.com There have been lots of enquiries about the music ... Wonderful London in 1924 and 2014 In 1924, Harry B. Parkinson and Frank Miller documented London in a fantastic series of short films, known as "Wonderful London". Over the last few months, I have stood in their foot-steps, recapturing their shots exactly, and have blended the two together creating a window through time. The music used is Symphony No. 4 by Gustav Mahler The recording is credited to Steve Jones Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 The composition is now in the public domain, and more information can be found on this great website … http://imslp.org/wiki/Symphony_No.4_(Mahler,_Gustav) Wonderful London is available on DVD from the BFI here … http://www.bfi.org.uk/blu-rays-dvds/wonderful-london Making this short follows my previous film “London in 1927 and ...
Woke up out of bed this mornin at 5, face the light
Downstairs in the kitchen, 'erb tea, made a pot
Now I'm sippin, enjoyin the best peppermint
when I heard a sound from the back like Devin
Is it peeps in my crib? Yo I spit
No fear, I kick em on up outta here
Approachin, larger and larger, bright light
Now clearer, my mirror
[Chorus:]
Mirror mirror mirror on the wall
Who is the top choice of them all?
Mirror mirror mirrror on the wall
Who is the top choice?
Mirror mirror mirror on the wall
Who is the top choice of them all?
Mirror mirror (Tell me what you see)
Now I'm sorta perplexed, what's next?
I can't front, I'ma little bit nervous, no longer vexed
My imagination or H2O had to flow, hard to tell
For three-fourth's water is my shell
I take a step, it takes me light years, turn to molecules
See so many stars like follicles
I'm turnin, spinnin, twistin twistin I feel tight
At a 186 thousand miles per second, the speed of light
Suddenly I land in darkness, I'm there, where?
A 144 thousand degrees in the juice square
I see pyramids and sands
My ancestors makin more noise than the lands and brass bands
Toby, what was to come of us before?
That I am the, original god man for sure
Now that was nothin, I didn't know worthwhile
but had to hear it, from the lord, my god within myself
[Chorus]
All around me were princes and thieves
Queens and sisters with long hair, some caught some with weaves
There were butter, gold, diamonds and coal
The rest is avoided, no mad sellin, it's soul-to-soul
Then I asked the wise men, "Why where I from is like hell?"
He said "Indeed, for they know not where the true god dwell"
[????? ????? ?????], don't stop, who be on top?
Who be the only one sheltered when the real bomb drop?
I said "Back where I'm from, my peeps are scared to unite"
"They can't help it, for they been denied their birth right
Stripped of all culture, language, God
That's why Smooth B, times are so hard"
I cried "I hate the other man", then he said "Smooth can
before you hate, examine his mindstate"
Holy scientist turned darkside, why brothers
sit for 6000 years, he's made man will rule his father
For that vacuum in time
He told me when I touch back to Earth, bust heads with a rhyme
So, 4004 BC, go get'cha pilot
For the time has come, when only the fittest who seek survival
Started with the lies, then the murder of both wombs
Hid the truth like jewels and in Egyptian tombs
And today we bare scars
but we been around, before the Moon was split from Earth and replaced for
Mars
And we'll be around for eternity, made clearer
when we find the god within self, the true mirror
