This Be The Verse by Philip Larkin

This poem was taught to me by my Dad, which is kind of meta. Also maybe ironic. Bonus fact: both me and my Dad went to Hull university, where Larkin was librarian. Indeed, the building housing the Library was called The Larkin Building when I was there - possibly still is.
Also, I think this really works in a Yorkshire accent.

Apologies for the sound quality on this; I have a bit of a cold AND I was recording on my mobile phone in bed, and I have just realised the mike was partially covered by duvet LOL oops.

You can all blame Educating Charlene for this post. She tagged me in a meme.

Here are the rules:

  1. Thank your Liebster blog award presenter on your blog and link back to the blogger who presented this award to you.
  2.  Answer the 11 questions from the nominator and create 11 questions for your nominees.
  3. Present the Liebster Blog Award to 11 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve to be noticed and leave a comment on their blog letting them know they have been chosen. (no tag backs)
  4. Copy and paste the blog award onto your blog

The people I have tagged are Steve Harris Fan, Mortisia, Vambo Rools, Andrew Ducker, Nick Barlow, AreMay, Liberal Burblings, The Rt Hon Trouble, The Blast Flyrant, Metrodoxy, and Bibliophile 1887. I don’t actually know if you guys have less than 200 folowers or not - I suspect a couple of you have lots more - but I’m actually so tumblr inept that I don’t know how to check :/

Oh yeah. I don’t expect you to reply in audio form, but you’ll have to listen to the audio if you  want to hear your questions ;)

on why I love tumblr even though I don’t post much. Also why is it so hard to do an audio post from mobile? This makes no sense. Also HELLO!

…no the Doctor opens them the wrong way.

The Doctor almost always opens the doors inwards, despite the fact that real police boxes open…

And yet an actual police box’s doors open inwards. The “pull to open” bit refers to the hatch for the phone, not the doors.

(and there goes my “I’m only going to post audio on tumblr” pledge…)

http://www.policeboxes.com/pboxhist.htm or maybe they sometimes open inwards but mostly outwards. I like the 1928 one very much!

Sorry I haven’t updated for a bit; you know how it is when you’re poorly. Anyway, here’s the very sweary Tomb Raider “Commentary” I promised on my regular blog; back to reading stuff soon, I promise.
