A second Gwinnett County Police officer has been fired after another video of a controversial traffic stop emerged on Thursday.
In the 10-second-long, new video, a police officer, identified as Sgt. Michael Bongiovanni, a 19-year police veteran, can be seen pulling the driver of a red car out of his vehicle. The driver stands with his hands upraised.
Bongiovanni appears to be holding a weapon while facing the driver. The officer then rares back and punches and pummels the driver, whose hands remain upraised.
Police said Thursday night that Bongiovanni had been terminated, and a criminal investigation is underway.

A Gwinnett County police officer has been fired after video showed him kicking a handcuffed man during a traffic stop.

A 15-year-old has been charged with felony murder after being captured in Gwinnett County Sunday night.
Caziah Brown was taken into custody by the SWAT team around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Lochshyre way in unincorporated Lawrenceville. He's accused of shooting Curtis Oldham, 21, on Saturday during a drug deal.
Brown's older brother, Dontae Lang, talked exclusively to FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor Monday.
" I grew up with him since he was born and he has had no type of angry nature or no type of way of showing that he would kill somebody. And I have no doubt my little brother has ever done something like that," Lang said. He says The SWAT team was too aggressive when they came to the family home Sunday night.
Police said after the shooting took place, Oldham was taken by his girlfriend to the parking lot of a daycare center on Darling Court in unincorporated Lilburn. Paramedics took him from there to the hospital where Oldham died.
Gwinnett Police say Brown and two others also robbed a 57-year-old pizza delivery man of a pizza, his cellphone and his car.
"I feel I was very lucky that I didn't end up being the one that got killed," Brown said.
For a day and a half, police tracked down numerous leads all over Gwinnett County, trying to capture the juvenile suspect. Investigators said when they caught up to him, Brown surrendered peacefully.
Brown has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
Police do not consider Oldham's girlfriend to be a suspect, but are calling her a witness. They planned on interviewing her to learn more about the shooting, including its exact location.
Authorities do not believe that the shooting is connected to the daycare facility. They think it likely took place somewhere else and that the daycare parking lot was a convenient location for Oldham's girlfriend to seek help.

Gwinnett County is a county in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 859,304, making it the second-most populous county in Georgia. Its county seat is Lawrenceville. The county is named for Button Gwinnett, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
Gwinnett County is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Created in 1818 by an act of the Georgia General Assembly, Gwinnett County was formed from parts of Jackson County (formerly part of Franklin County) and from lands gained through the cession of Indian lands. Named for Button Gwinnett, one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence, the first county court was held at the home of Elisha Winn, and the county seat was placed at Lawrenceville.
In 1861, all three of Gwinnett County’s representatives at the Georgia Constitutional Convention (1861) in Milledgeville voted against secession. Towards the end of the war, several skirmishes took place in Gwinnett County as part of the Atlanta Campaign.

A county, abbreviated Cnty. (US) or Co. (UK and Ireland), is a geographical region of a country used for administrative or other purposes, in certain modern nations. A second Gwinnett County Police officer has been fired after another video of a controversial traffic stop emerged on Thursday.
In the 10-second-long, new video, a police officer, identified as Sgt. Michael Bongiovanni, a 19-year police veteran, can be seen pulling the driver of a red car out of his vehicle. The driver stands with his hands upraised.
Bongiovanni appears to be holding a weapon while facing the driver. The officer then rares back and punches and pummels the driver, whose hands remain upraised.
Police said Thursday night that Bongiovanni had been terminated, and a criminal investigation is underway.

A 15-year-old has been charged with felony murder after being captured in Gwinnett County Sunday night.
Caziah Brown was taken into custody by the SWAT team around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Lochshyre way in unincorporated Lawrenceville. He's accused of shooting Curtis Oldham, 21, on Saturday during a drug deal.
Brown's older brother, Dontae Lang, talked exclusively to FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor Monday.
" I grew up with him since he was born and he has had no type of angry nature or no type of way of showing that he would kill somebody. And I have no doubt my little brother has ever done something like that," Lang said. He says The SWAT team was too aggressive when they came to the family home Sunday night.
Police said after the shooting took place, Oldham was taken by his girlfriend to the parking lot of a daycare center on Darling Court in unincorporated Lilburn. Paramedics took him from there to the hospital where Oldham died.
Gwinnett Police say Brown and two others also robbed a 57-year-old pizza delivery man of a pizza, his cellphone and his car.
"I feel I was very lucky that I didn't end up being the one that got killed," Brown said.
For a day and a half, police tracked down numerous leads all over Gwinnett County, trying to capture the juvenile suspect. Investigators said when they caught up to him, Brown surrendered peacefully.
Brown has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
Police do not consider Oldham's girlfriend to be a suspect, but are calling her a witness. They planned on interviewing her to learn more about the shooting, including its exact location.
Authorities do not believe that the shooting is connected to the daycare facility. They think it likely took place somewhere else and that the daycare parking lot was a convenient location for Oldham's girlfriend to seek help.

For this historical park project, Foresite Group (with offices in Norcross and the Southeast) worked with Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation to design and permit this beautiful site. Located in Duluth, Georgia, McDaniel Farm Park is a 128 acre park, a former cotton farm, that has been restored to depict a typical 1930s subsistence farm in Gwinnett County. This park includes 2.5 miles of connecting, paved multi-purpose trails, a picnic pavilion and a large informal play area and was completed in 2005. A second Gwinnett County Police officer has been fired after another video of a controversial traffic stop emerged on Thursday. In the 10-second-long, new video, a police officer, identified as Sgt. Michael Bongiovanni, a 19-year police veteran, can be seen pulling the driver of a red car out of his vehicle. The driver stands with his hands upraised. Bongiovanni appears to be holding a weapon while facing the driver. The officer then rares back and punches and pummels the driver, whose hands remain upraised. Police said Thursday night that Bongiovanni had been terminated, and a criminal investigation is underway. A 15-year-old has been charged with felony murder after being captured in Gwinnett County Sunday night. Caziah Brown was taken into custody by the SWAT team around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Lochshyre way in unincorporated Lawrenceville. He's accused of shooting Curtis Oldham, 21, on Saturday during a drug deal. Brown's older brother, Dontae Lang, talked exclusively to FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor Monday. A second Gwinnett County Police officer has been fired after another video of a controversial traffic stop emerged on Thursday.
In the 10-second-long, new video, a police officer, identified as Sgt. Michael Bongiovanni, a 19-year police veteran, can be seen pulling the driver of a red car out of his vehicle. The driver stands with his hands upraised.
Bongiovanni appears to be holding a weapon while facing the driver. The officer then rares back and punches and pummels the driver, whose hands remain upraised.
Police said Thursday night that Bongiovanni had been terminated, and a criminal investigation is underway.

A 15-year-old has been charged with felony murder after being captured in Gwinnett County Sunday night.
Caziah Brown was taken into custody by the SWAT team around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Lochshyre way in unincorporated Lawrenceville. He's accused of shooting Curtis Oldham, 21, on Saturday during a drug deal.
Brown's older brother, Dontae Lang, talked exclusively to FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor Monday.
" I grew up with him since he was born and he has had no type of angry nature or no type of way of showing that he would kill somebody. And I have no doubt my little brother has ever done something like that," Lang said. He says The SWAT team was too aggressive when they came to the family home Sunday night.
Police said after the shooting took place, Oldham was taken by his girlfriend to the parking lot of a daycare center on Darling Court in unincorporated Lilburn. Paramedics took him from there to the hospital where Oldham died.
Gwinnett Police say Brown and two others also robbed a 57-year-old pizza delivery man of a pizza, his cellphone and his car.
"I feel I was very lucky that I didn't end up being the one that got killed," Brown said.
For a day and a half, police tracked down numerous leads all over Gwinnett County, trying to capture the juvenile suspect. Investigators said when they caught up to him, Brown surrendered peacefully.
Brown has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
Police do not consider Oldham's girlfriend to be a suspect, but are calling her a witness. They planned on interviewing her to learn more about the shooting, including its exact location.
Authorities do not believe that the shooting is connected to the daycare facility. They think it likely took place somewhere else and that the daycare parking lot was a convenient location for Oldham's girlfriend to seek help.
