The AUWU is calling for a jobs guarantee program as every worker who wants a job should have one. The "dole bludger myth has been perpetuated by governments of all persuasions to avoid responsibility for their own failings. Every person in our society should be able to live with dignity and respect.

We've gone from the 8th to the 20th fastest growing economy in the OECD since the Liberals took government in 2013. We are now in a per-capita recession, and their plan to boost the economy is to redistribute wealth from public hands to the pockets of middle-high income earners via $100bn in tax cuts. In other words, our nation has been and is still being robbed blind. We need bottom-up investment via higher wages and higher rates of Newstart, Disability Support and Aged Pensions, or we're facing a depression.
