just want to say how much I am enjoying this. I didn't know anything about Haiti and South America, beyond the obvious.

I was wondering if after covering 1830 you could make a short supplemental on the 1832 June Rebellion, since its appearence in Les Miserables has given it an iconic status in the popular culture representation of revolutions.

I was wondering while listening to this episode about how when the Spanish still controlled the area around the silver mines, how they could actually use that wealth to pay their soldiers or whatever, given that the rest of the continent had fallen out of their control. Was any wealth getting back to Spain at this time somehow? Or to the church maybe?
