Northern NSW bearing brunt of ex-Cyclone Debbie as Queensland faces massive clean-up effort

Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated from towns in northern New South Wales and south-east Queensland as "unprecedented" flooding from ex -Tropical Cyclone Debbie continues.

Flood sirens sounded in Lismore in the small hours of this morning as water came over the top of the town's protective levee, while the Logan River at Beaudesert is peaking at the same level as the 1991 record.
