Our top ten best-selling books this week 31 August edition
Posted to August 2015 by Dymocks Digital Team on 31/08/2015
While some things were a given in bookselling this week, like the continued domination of Andy Griffiths, Terry Denton, and adult colouring books, we welcomed three new books, easily three of the most anticipated books of 2015, into our top ten.

What's most interesting about these new books is that for two of them, the authors who either wrote the book or originally created the series that the new book continues are longer alive.

One-on-one with Rachael Johns

It might come as a surprise to some of you that one of Australia's best-selling and most beloved romance authors, Rachael Johns, is also a supermarket owner. She's a mother of three, a qualified English teacher, and a chronic arachnaphobic. In her spare time, of which we're convinced there can't be that much of, she writes enthralling and entertaining stories that have captivated readers in both Australia and overseas since her first book was published in print in 2012.

Q&A with Rachael Craw

In Rachael Craw's Twitter bio, she refers to herself as (among other things) a lover of classical heroes, Joss Whedon, teen angst, and beautiful sounding words. It's no surprise, then, that her books contain three of those four things (four, we suppose, if you count the Whedon-inspired cat name).

The Treehouse men have done it again! Andy and Terry are sitting pretty in top spot for a second straight week and are delighting children all across the country with the fifth instalment of the Treehouse series.

There are still many opportunities left to meet Andy on his Australian tour. Check out the details here to see if he will be visiting somewhere near you.

We all know we need to eat more greens. If you didn't know that, now you do. (You're welcome.) Despite this knowledge, a report released by the ABS in June 2015 suggested that only one in twenty Australians consumers the recommended intake of vegetables each day, which ranges from 2.5 servings for toddlers up to 6 servings for adult males. Six sevings of vegetables is a lot. Enter The Blender Girl, aka Tess Masters.

Wine and murderous prisons have made way for treehouses, fools, and Michael Robotham's spectacularly chilling writing in our top ten this week. In an incredible few days for children's fiction, Andy Griffiths smashed Australian sales records for The 65-Storey Treehouse to become the fast-selling Australian book this decade, selling over 7,000 copies in Dymocks stores alone in under a week.

Our top ten best-selling books this week, 10 August edition
Posted to August 2015 by Dymocks Digital Team on 10/08/2015
Last week there were five, now there are six.

We are of course talking about the number of adult colouring books appearing in our weekly best-sellers list. For the first time in many weeks, both of Johanna Basford's intricately-designed colouring books were in stock and they flew off our shelves in spectacular fashion.

It will come as no surprise to you that modern living is becoming increasingly stressful. Many of us are overwhelmed by the technological demands of day-to-day life; we are expected to be available for contact 24/7, always ready to respond to the latest tweet, text, or Snapchat, or to double-tap on the hundredth Instagram photo of your friend’s puppy.

Our top ten best-selling books this week, 3 August edition

This week saw Harper Lee continue her reign at the top of our best-seller list for the third straight week. Johanna Basford flexed her muscles and showed us just how powerful her influence is, with over a thousand copies of Secret Garden selling in just over three days.

On that note, we're up to five colouring books in our top ten, including two from the increasingly popular Millie Marotta.

Welcome to Dymocks, Australia's leading bookseller for 135 years.
