Fire crews brought a blaze under control on Tuesday afternoon at Brisbane's iconic XXXX brewery at Milton.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services statement was issued later stating the fire had been contained and all people accounted for.
A spokesman said 10 crews - more than 40 firefighters - had attended shortly after 5.05pm, with reports of thick black smoke billowing from the building.
Roads remained closed for some time around the area while crews worked on the fire.

Just after 6pm, a QFES spokesman said all the people in the building were accounted for and the fire was under control.
"There are no more visible signs of fire... firefighters have ceased breathing apparatus operations - taken off all their breathing gear," he said.
"They're doing their final checks to make sure there are no hotspots and extinguishing them as they po up.
"They have got all persons accounted for but we don't have any details yet on whether all the beer is accounted for."

Australian Traffic Network's Dave Andrews said with Milton Road shut in both directions, traffic was building up on surrounding streets.
"Inbound traffic is back to Auchenflower and outbound traffic is spread to 50 different directions, up the Inner City Bypass," Mr Andrews said.
"There's some big delays, heading outbound, back up Hale Street, back up the Inner City Bypass, back up Caxton Street.
"There are diversions in place, all around Suncorp Stadium is busy."

Mr Andrews said Coronation Drive would be the alternative route, but it was also quite busy, and advised motorists to avoid Milton for the next hour or so.
A police spokeswoman said officers were controlling traffic around the XXXX brewery, with drivers being directed around the area.
Police are at Park and Baroona roads, stopping people from heading east onto Milton Road.
Traffic has also been stopped on Cribb Street and Milton Road, and pedestrians stopped from walking along Milton Road.
The right-hand turning lane from Milton Road onto Castlemaine Street was also due to be shut.
