Hosted by the Herald’s Garry Maddox (writer), the panel featured our film team – Paul Byrnes (Film Critic) and Sandra Hall (Film Critic) – as they looked back at the year in film.
In front of a full house, the panel discussed the nominations, debated whether La La Land was worthy of best picture, reflected on the record number of Australian film nominations, and assessed the Academy’s response to the #Oscarssowhite campaign last year.
The discussion was followed by a screening of Oscar® nominated film, Hidden Figures.
