  8. of course wish @Greens/indys didn't direct preferences to any party (Labor/Libs) in favour of coal in perpetuity or asylum-seeker brutality.

  9. next democratic milestone: optional preferencing & solely citizens directing preferences in House of Representatives

  14. How does wealth trickle down from offshore tax havens?

  15. hope are there to be part of what replaces Labor, not to join them - otherwise we'll have to start over.

  16. If the ALP and the Greens formed a coalition the Greens would end up like the Lib Dems.

  24. least it's spelled out in no uncertain terms: a vote for Labor, a preference that hands a vote to Labor, is a vote to perpetuate the horrors

  25. worst outcome a win for Labor on July 2nd:we give endorsement to inhumane policy we strengthen bipartisan commitment to it for years to come

  26. with assuring us asylum-seeker maltreatment will remain under Labor, leave us no option but replace them. Sooner we start..

. Murder, assaults, self-immolations haven't changed Labor's minds except at fringe, think only an existential shock'll do it.

  31. sometimes I feel like there's a bunch of free, volunteer sitcom writers out there just setting up punchlines for me.

  32. even in relation to US Trump's racist proclamations framed as outlandish bigotry. We're ~doing~ these things,& it gets policy-games treatment

  33. to see if this amoral frame is ethical..ought to consider same abuses elsewhere (esp a non-Western country) would be framed very differently

  34. wholly amoral narrative: ~any~ horror could be parsed according to the same frame, all grist for mill, impartiality with no 'beyond the pale'

  35. live blog written as though it's just another policy: election framing glossing bipartisan human rights violations
