Kugelis (also bulvių plokštainis, literally "flat potato dish" or banda - a dialecticism frequent especially in Dzūkija region) is a baked potato pudding. The main ingredients are potatoes, bacon, milk, onions, and eggs. It may be spiced with salt, black pepper, bay leaves, and/or marjoram. It is usually eaten with sour cream, or spirgai, a topping made with fried fatty bacon (usually belly bacon) and diced onions.[1]

Similar dishes are the Jewish kugel and Belarusian potato babka.[1]
