Bacon soup is soup made with bacon. Generally a number of vegetables are added[1] and often a thickening agent such as pearl barley, lentils[2] or corn flour.
Many variations exist, which may incorporate primary ingredients such as cabbage,[3][4] beans,[5] potato,[6] pumpkin[7] and rice.[8]
Delia Smith has published a bacon soup recipe.
