Bachelor degree & honours scholarships

Victoria University (VU) offers a range of equity and merit scholarships for undergraduate students who are in financial need. You need to be enrolled in an undergraduate degree, honours program or Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education.

The equity and merit scholarships for undergraduate students have different eligibility requirements, value and application processes.

Academic achievement

Chancellor's scholarships

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students who achieve an ATAR of 90.00 or above
Value: $5000 each year for up to four years (maximum of $20,000)
How to apply: to apply for the Chancellor's Scholars Program apply for a course through VTAC. Students who have listed VU on their course preference list and meet the eligibility criteria will be assessed by the University.

David Hay Scholarship

Study level: diploma to PhD
Study area: students must be studying supply chain, logistics or freight transport
Eligibility: high school students, current students, mature-age students
Value: varies depending on course

VU Achievement scholarships

Study level: TAFE, undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students, academic achievement based on internal school assessments
Value: $5000 for up to four years (first scholarship) or $2000 for up to two years (second scholarship)

Early Uni Pathways (EUP) scholarships

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students from a participating EUP school who successfully completed their two EUP higher education units
Value: $5000 per year for the duration of the course (up to a maximum of four years)

George Alexander Foundation Leadership Scholarship

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: available for courses in the colleges of ArtsEducation or Health & Biomedicine
Eligibility: commencing students aged 18-22, ATAR of 75.00 and above, leadership potential
Value: $7500 per year over 3 years (total of $22,500)

Indigenous Commonwealth scholarships

Study level: all
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students, current students, mature-age students, Indigenous background
Value: scholarship values vary slightly each year

Pappas Family Kastellorizian Scholarship

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students, Kastellorzian/Greek heritage
Value: $5000 for the first year of study

VU Pride Scholarship

Study level: all
Study area: all
Eligibility: current students, demonstrated commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community
Value: $500

Equity (hardship)

Kirner Kosky scholarships

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: current students, women, demonstrated past barriers and challenges to complete primary or secondary education
Value: $5000 per year up to a maximum of five years ($25,000), plus mentoring from a female community leader

VU Access scholarships

Study level: TAFE, undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students, mature-age students, demonstrated financial hardship
Value: $1000 per year for up to four years (maximum of $4000)

VU Western Chances scholarships

Study level: TAFE, undergraduate
Study area: all
Eligibility: high school students, demonstrated financial hardship, must have received a Western Chances scholarship at secondary school
Value: $1000 per year for up to four years (maximum of $4000)

Westpac Bicentennial Foundation Young Technologists scholarships

Study level: undergraduate
Study area: students must be studying Bachelor of Screen Media, Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Business (Information Systems Management), or a dual degree including one of the previous three courses
Eligibility: commencing students aged under 26, demonstrate that the scholarship will make a significant difference to the student's ability to continue in education
Value: $5000 per year up to 5 years (maximum of $25,000)

Eligibility: current students, demonstrated sporting potential, demonstrated equity and hardship
