Police are hunting for a teenage girl wanted overĀ a fight outside Chadstone shopping centre that left a 13-year-old girl unconscious on Friday night.

Victoria Police spokesman Luke Zammit said police were attempting to track down a young woman "who may be able to assist with their inquiries" following the fight between four girls at the Dandenong Road bus terminal.

Emergency services were called about 5pm to reports of an assault.

Footage from 7 News appears to show two girls violently kicking and punching another two girls who were sitting on the edge of a flower bed outside the shopping centre.

The attackers launch themselves onto the pair, repeatedly punching them. The four involved end up in the garden bed, where the fight continues.

Police say a 13-year-old girl was allegedly knocked unconscious during the incident.

She was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital with injuries to her upper body in a stable condition.

A 14-year-old girl has been charged with assault related offences and bailed to appear at a children's court at a later date.

Police believe numerous people would have witnessed the peak-hour incident.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
