That'll do us for this evening. An interesting day's Test cricket.

The scales tipped in the favour of both sides today - a great fightback from India after early dominance from the likes of Steve Smith and David Warner.

We'll have to wait and see how India fair on what looked like a good batting wicket, though one that proved troublesome for much of the Australian order.

Until next time.

That's stumps!

Last ball of the over: a good leave outside the off-stump.

Hazlewood throws it down a bit shorter for the fourth of the over and gets it to nip away. Rahul is almost tempted, but pulls the bat away just in time.

A good ball - a good leave.

He's getting enough swing that he will hope to force the batsman to protect the stumps - before taking it away.

Let's see how he fares.

It's Rahul who will face Josh Hazlewood with the new ball first up. Let's see if he can get through them in time to allow another over - or even take a wicket!

We're not far away from the single over India will face this evening.

Australia will be willing a bit of luck in low light, while India know they only have to see out around five minutes worth of deliveries and focus on the task at hand tomorrow.

We might see a single over of pace, or one of spin followed by pace.

Debutant Kuldeep Yadav is allowed to leave the field alone, ahead of the rest of the side. He's taken four wickets and announced himself in this Test side.

He'll be hoping to be a part of it for many years to come.

In the end India won the day, despite a great opening session from Australia. They are still to come in for a single over before stumps.

What a catch!

Kumar with an inswinging delivery - Nathan Lyon whips it off his pads and it's a fantastic catch from Pujara who dives forward and to his right.

Australia all out for 300.

New ball taken!

Despite success with the old one - India has opted to take the new ball. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be given first honours. Lyon is on strike.

Josh Hazlewood steps to the crease.

The umpire has the new ball in his pocket but for the meantime Jadeja retains the old one.

There's just one wicket to be taken now.

wicket!

Bowled!

Matthew Wade is down on one knee but completely misses the sweep - it's pitched well outside the off-stump from Jadeja, but crashes into the top of it.

He's dismissed for 57. He's been stopped from crossing the boundary - they are checking for the no ball and interference for the keeper.

Wade looks a bit annoyed - and in the end he's clearly out.

India are still yet to take the new ball.

Meantime a strange four runs added to the total there - Matt Wade down the wicket, fielded by the bowler who has a crack at the stumps. It takes a strange bounce and it's misjudged and behind for four more.

This is how far away Steve O'Keefe was from making his ground. He might have a couple of words with Matthew Wade later on!

Lyon loves a sweep! He's taken a top edge off Kuldeep and it looked to be slowly rolling to the man at square leg - instead it takes a bobble and runs to the boundary. Shocker!

The Australian spinner follows up with a much better stroke - this time the ball racing to the boundary between the two men square of him.

Jadeja is back into the attack. He'll be absolutely chomping at the bit for a wicket here, as he's yet to grab one.

Runs

Fifty for Matthew Wade. A quality effort from the wicket-keeper who was left with the responsibility, following the departure of Steve Smith.

Much needed runs, coming with just three boundaries - he's answered his nation's call as wickets fell around him.

Lyon having a crack at the sweep - Ashwin tossed it up to him and Australian managed to get a bit of toe on it. Had he missed that it would have been crashing into his front pad and all over for the spinner.

Matthew Wade with an eye on the umpire as the ball runs down the legside for four - it's ruled leg byes. He will have to wait to raise the bat!

Another look at the scenery. What a view.
