SBS has been alerted to calls that have been made to people within the Australian Egyptian community from someone claiming to be an SBS employee, seeking donations in aid of those affected by recent attacks targeting Coptic Christians in Egypt. This is a scam and SBS has notified the authorities.

SBS Arabic24 launches 24/7 Digital TV

SBS today (4pm) launches SBS Arabic24 live on Digital TV, available to listen on channel 36. Now Australia’s leading Arabic language radio station, the additional platform, which currently reaches more than 90% of Australian homes, aims to connect further with the growing Arabic-speaking community.

SBS celebrates Youth Week 2017, turning ideas into short films for TV

In celebration of National Youth Week (Friday 31 March to Sunday 9 April), SBS has launched the second annual SBS National Youth Week Film competition, a collaboration with the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) and the Department of Social Services (DSS), to give young people the opportunity to share their story on national television.

The five winning short films premiere on the SBS network today (Friday 31 March), on SBS VICELAND, NITV and Food Network, and will also be available to watch online.

Six teachers, three public schools, one aim: to make a difference in young lives.

Premiering on Wednesday, 19 April at 8.30pm is SBS’s three-part observational documentary, Testing Teachers. With unprecedented access to three public high schools across Victoria, Western Australia and Northern Territory, Testing Teachers follows six first-time teachers over the course of 12 months as they start their new career as teachers.
