WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME THAT THE SEQUEL TO NINTH HOUSE BY LEIGH BARDUGO WAS COMING OUT NEXT MONTH? the fact I had no wind of this- not even the title name!- feels like very bad fandom on everyone's part.

Order your family & friends tests. I've consistently done this for my parents & this time I just kept going down my contacts list. Worst comes to worse, the system tells you if the household has maxed out their # of free tests. (You'll need name & address. Email optional)

(Side note: I cancelled my subscription after 3 months when it became it was clear pattern of company mismanagement and not just ordinary shipping delays. I'm still owed all three boxes and at this rate, I'll not be receiving the last box until February 2023....)

I signed up for the Bookish Box Subscription in August, to start receiving monthly boxes in September. I just received a shipping confirmation TODAY December 16th that my 1st box is being shipped.

Pro- the animation of the rosacea on the protagonists’s face is very well done. Con- why does 1st fat character get this level of detail (a detail can be a fat stereotype in of itself) while other Disney female protagonists typically don’t get these same blemishes?

VERY interestingly is that the original concept art features a thin/average sized body. So there appears to have been a conversation about the size of the protagonist’s body and making it larger when they moved to animation stage.

Also not a knock- but I’d love to know how the concept was developed (in more detail). Did they consult w/ fat people or fat dancers? Director is a thin white woman so I’d be interested in knowing more about her person background & any research she did for building this story.

I’d agree with this take. This body acceptance journey can be very true for lots of fat people (myself included) but it’s exhausting and stale when it’s the ONLY journey fat people are allowed to take on screen.

Anxiety Update: Mostly gone but also I had to eat mostly snacks instead of lunch because my toddler brain thought all my lunch food options were disgusting. #ADHD

Anxiety update: 1hr, 48 minutes later I still want to vomit.

Had to public speak today in a leadership role (instead of color commentary) and good news is the nerves didn’t hit me until after the meeting ended. Thanks anxiety for showing up late to the party! (But also go home now & take this puke feeling with you)
