"It's not really normal, I don't know why, but it's been happening a lot."
Those were the words of Performance Towing director Darryl Maxfield after his company recovered a fourth vehicle from Perth waters in less than two months on Wednesday afternoon.

A Crane hauls in a monster catch after a Mandurah ute dunking.
The incident occurred on a vacant block at Halls Head canals when a ute slid down a slope and into the drink.
"He had just parked the car and it actually hit him and pushed him into the water himself...he's a very lucky man," Mr Maxfield said.
"We've got a scuba diver in our team, he's ex-navy... he's got big lungs sometimes he can go down without his gear on, sometimes he'll go down with a little buddy bottle, but on Wednesday he needed the scuba diving gear because the car was about 2.5 metres down."
The company has also pulled two vehicles from the Swan River after they veered off Mounts Bay Road in February, while another car reported stolen was recovered from Lake Monger.
It follows the company receiving just one water recovery job in 2016 after a woman sitting in a car park near Crawley Bay accidently hit drive while she was reading, sending her into the river.
The vehicles, which are always write-offs according to Mr Maxfield, have to be lifted using a special crane.
"Jamie hooks onto the car and gets it to a safe location near the shore and we usually call the crane truck in so we don't damage the river walls," he said.
"We'll do any job, the harder it is, we'll get into it and do it."Â
