Sea Eagles presser

"I had a lot of people inside me doing a lot of good things and I was only doing my job," said Daly Cherry Evans.

"Jake and Tom (Trbojevic) did all the hard work and just put the icing on top of it."

Coach Trent Barrett added: "We never went away with what we were practicing.

"It's a Melbourne Cup run. It's a long season. We've just got to be consistent with it and keep going."

Bulldogs presser

"It's one of those games where Thursday, the next game, can't come quick enough," said Canterbury coach Des Hasler.

Now let's check the weather for our second game, Parramatta v Cronulla at ANZ Stadium.

Fulltime at Lottoland: MANLY 36 CANTERBURY 0

DALY Cherry Evans and Tom Trbojevic have starred as Manly fell just two points short of matching their biggest-ever win over Canterbury.

The Sea Eagles led 26-0 at halftime and then cruised in the second half, with a late Akuila Uate try closing their account.

It was a Bulldogs performance that will do little to ease speculation about the future at Belmore of coach Des Hasler. Rookie Brian Kelly posted two tries for the home side.

COMMENT: If Des Hasler is not at Manly next year, this will be remembered as a major turning point in his relationship with the club.

78 min: Uate try

And Manly finish with a flourish and Daly Cherry Evan is involved again. It was a masterful cross-field kick from DCE and Fijian flier Uate snaps up the Steeden from the floor. Walker's conversion would equal the biggest win over Manly. He misses. Manly 36-0.

Tom Trbojevic's pass to Akuila Uate is just a bit too high. Big call here from Jimmy Smith! Manly 32-0.

46 min: Koroisau try, Walker goal

After another Bulldogs fumble, Fonua-Blake offloads and Koroisau scores! 'Soft Dogs' someone said here in the office. Here's the song below! Dylan walker converts. Manly 32-0.

Halftime at Brookvale Oval: MANLY 26 CANTERBURY 0

MANLY have scored five tries to nil in running up a stunning 26-0 lead over woeful Canterbury at Lottoland.

Centre Brian Kelly has a double, with a professional foul sin bin to the Bulldogs' Josh Jackson leading to two quick Sea Eagles tries.

Daly Cherry Evans, playing a milestone game, has been involved in everything with Des Hasler's Bulldogs on the back foot from the get-go.

COMMENT: This sort of scoreline brought about Jason Taylor's Waterloo. Just sayin'.

37 min: T Trbojevic try, Walker goal

And just a few seconds from the restart, Tom Trbojevic makes the break, finds Cherry Evans inside and the halfback kicks ahead for the young fullback to recover and score. It was a lovely right-foot dab dab from DCE. Walker's goal is good. Manly 26-0.

35 min: Kelly try, Walker goal

Daly Cherry Evans skirts crossfield and picks up centre Brian Kelly running an inward line. Kelly floors the defence and Josh Morris can't nail him. Walker's goal is good. Manly 20-0.

33 min: Jackson SIN BIN (professional foul)

Josh Jackson has been sent to the sin bin for a professional foul after he made a tackle in an offside position after a Manly penalty. Manly 14-0.

26 min: Kelly try

It's gone to the Bunker as a try. Blake Green dabbed a kick into the in-goal and Brian Kelly appeared to get to it first. The check is on whether Bulldog Brad Abbey was interferred with. The try is good. Green light. Dylan Walker with the conversion attempt - it misses. Manly 14-0.

18 min: Sironen try

Curtis Sironen keeps his family name in the headlines after a lovely ball short from Daly Cherry Evans. Did he drop it? Just grounded it. DCE proving extremely dangerous so far, having set up the first two tries. Walker's conversion attempt is off to the right. Manly 10-0.

14 min: Walker try, goal

From the 'No Try' decision the Sea Eagles go to the left and back to the right where milestone man Daly Cherry Evans pilots a grubber kick into the southern in-goal. Centre Dylan Walker gets to it just before it dribbles over the dead ball line. Walker converts his own opening touchdown. Manly 6-0.

14 min: Koroisau NO TRY

The Manly hooker goes from dummy half back he is short. Gavin Badger goes to the Bunker just to be sure. 0-0.

Manly have so far forced a line dropout but Canterbury's defence held out. Manly centre Dylan Walker copped a knock to the shoulder. 0-0.

Kick-off: MANLY v CANTERBURY

And it's Canterbury kicking off with Manly running from the northern end. We have a minute's silence for Sharnie Kimmorley. Manly 0 Canterbury 0.
