Trains suspended after truck becomes stuck under bridge in South Brisbane

Beenleigh, Cleveland and Gold Coast trains were suspended in both directions on Friday afternoon following a bridge strike in South Brisbane.

A Translink spokesman said a truck became lodged under the Ernest Street bridge just before 12.30pm.

Trains resumed less than an hour later, with customers expecting delays of up to 30 minutes on the Beenleigh, Cleveland, Ferny Grove, Gold Coast and Shorncliffe lines.

Bridge inspectors were sent to the scene.
