Launch Edition: $68,400 - in my research, pricing varies quite a bit, seemingly based on market value. Many Launch Editions are going for over MSRP.

This may be the only example of a mid-engine lightweight sports car on the road today. Back in 2014 Alfa Romeo re-launched in the U.S. with the 4C. This little sports car is short displaying an Italian design that makes it look iconic. The Alpha is one of the few mid-engine sports cars available for less than $100k. In fact, the price of the base model considerably less at $65,900.
The engine is a turbocharged 1.7 liter 4-cylinder making 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque which is plenty in a car that weighs less than 2500 lbs thanks to the use of a carbon fiber tub and aluminum body panels.

The Alfa Romeo 4C (Type 960) is a small, lightweight, rear wheel drive sports car. Available in coupé and spider bodystyles, it uses a carbon fiber tub, front and rear crash box, and hybrid rear frame mainly out of aluminium to keep its weight at 895 kilograms (1,973 lb) and 995 kilograms (2,194 lb) in the United States The 4C is the first mass-produced Alfa Romeo car to re-enter into the United States market.
History
Alfa Romeo 4C Concept (2011)
Alfa Romeo 4C Concept is a two-seater, rear-wheel drive coupé with technology and materials derived from the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, with 1750 turbo petrol engine with direct injection, the "Alfa TCT" twin dry clutch transmission, the Alfa DNA dynamic control selector.
The 4C concept version unveiled in the 81st Geneva Motor Show in March 2011, followed by Mille Miglia 2011 parade, Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011, 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
It was displayed first time outside in Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in 2012. Compared to the production version, it's very similar, with the biggest differences being front lights, side vents and mirrors.

This may be the only example of a mid-engine lightweight sports car on the road today. Back in 2014 Alfa Romeo re-launched in the U.S. with the 4C. This little sports car is short displaying an Italian design that makes it look iconic. The Alpha is one of the few mid-engine sports cars available for less than $100k. In fact, the price of the base model considerably less at $65,900. The engine is a turbocharged 1.7 liter 4-cylinder making 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque which is plenty in a car that weighs less than 2500 lbs thanks to the use of a carbon fiber tub and aluminum body panels. Launch Edition: $68,400 - in my research, pricing varies quite a bit, seemingly based on market value. Many Launch Editions are going for over MSRP.
During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! This little sports car is short displaying an Italian design that makes it look iconic. The Alpha is one of the few mid-engine sports cars available for less than $100k. In fact, the price of the base model considerably less at $65,900.
The engine is a turbocharged 1.7 liter 4-cylinder making 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque which is plenty in a car that weighs less than 2500 lbs thanks to the use of a carbon fiber tub and aluminum body panels.

When combined with the Racing exhaust system, this car might just have the best sounding four cylinder in production today.
The heart of the 4C is a 1750 cc all-aluminum four cylinder engine with direct injection and a clever turbo-charger which aims to eliminate lag. The result is 237 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque @ 2,200-4,250 rpm. It converts to 135 horses per liter of engine displacement, or 10 pounds of weight per horsepower. EPA rates the 4C at 24 MPG city, 34 MPG highway, and 28 MPG combined.
The Launch Edition is being shipped now, and you will be able to pick it up at 86 initial North American dealerships by the end of June. Expect the fully loaded Launch Edition 4C to retail around $68,000.

The Alfa Romeo 4C is an Italian sports coupe with a carbon fiber monocoque matched with a 6 speed twin clutch transmission with paddle shifters. A mid-engine 1.7L turbo I4 produces 237 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle weighs less than 2,500 lbs and is truly a drivers car, with little in the way of everyday drivability. Though incredibly impractical, it's an experience unlike any other road car out there, with manual steering, floor mounted brake and throttle pedals, and exceptional chassis rigidity. Alfa Romeo has unveiled more technical and production information about the forthcoming Alfa 4C, which will be making its dynamic UK debut at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. The 'compact supercar' perfectly embodies the Alfa brand with Italian style, sporty performance and engineering excellence offering maximum driving satisfaction in total safety. Hi, thanks for coming back! :) Stay tuned for Episode 5 for Dyno results. Tire Damage: if you live in DC you know how crappy the roads are lol Couldn't avoid a pothole without either jumping the curb and causing a lot more damage to the car or crashing into the car next to me or being hit from behind by suddenly breaking hard. I took the least damaging option. Filed a claim with the State but doubt it will end anywhere.

The Alfa Romeo 4C was born from a clean slate and an idea or, rather, the clean state was the prerequisite for conceiving, developing and producing a new concept in the domain of sportscars, the "affordable supercar." The 4C was designed not only to be an exclusive car both for contents and performance, but also to become an achievable dream for Alfa Romeo fans all over the world. As a consequence, it was necessary to think in terms of limited production volumes, but still in the order of some thousands vehicles per year and, therefore, decidedly higher than those of the practically handcrafted production characterising this class.
The clean slate, which was initially free of design and manufacturing constraints, was soon assigned new parameters and presented with new challenges the first of which was a fundamental reference data point: a supercar weight/power ratio must be less than 4 kg/HP.
To achieve the right ratio, Alfa Romeo designers could have focused on horsepower (i.e.: increasing power and performance), but this would have impacted the purchase and maintenance costs, thus making the car significantly less affordable. They decided to go a different way; they reduced the car weight by using materials where lightness is combined with efficiency and by perfecting, sometimes even creating, manufacturing processes where high technology is joined to craftsmanship. In this way they were able to obtain a total dry weight of just 895 kg, a true record that makes the 4C one of the lightest cars in the world. The 4C is lighter than a city car and its weight/power ratio is less than 4 kg/HP.

The Alfa Romeo 4C was born from a clean slate and an idea or, rather, the clean state was the prerequisite for conceiving, developing and producing a new concept in the domain of sportscars, the "affordable supercar." The 4C was designed not only to be an exclusive car both for contents and performance, but also to become an achievable dream for Alfa Romeo fans all over the world. As a consequence, it was necessary to think in terms of limited production volumes, but still in the order of some thousands vehicles per year and, therefore, decidedly higher than those of the practically handcrafted production characterising this class.
The clean slate, which was initially free of design and manufacturing constraints, was soon assigned new parameters and presented with new challenges the first of which was a fundamental reference data point: a supercar weight/power ratio must be less than 4 kg/HP.
To achieve the right ratio, Alfa Romeo designers could have focused on horsepower (i.e.: increasing power and performance), but this would have impacted the purchase and maintenance costs, thus making the car significantly less affordable. They decided to go a different way; they reduced the car weight by using materials where lightness is combined with efficiency and by perfecting, sometimes even creating, manufacturing processes where high technology is joined to craftsmanship. In this way they were able to obtain a total dry weight of just 895 kg, a true record that makes the 4C one of the lightest cars in the world. The 4C is lighter than a city car and its weight/power ratio is less than 4 kg/HP.

The engine is the beating heart of any Alfa Romeo, and for the 4C, it beats to an all-new 1750 cc direct-injection 237 horsepower all aluminum engine. To ensure exceptional performance and drivability on the racetrack or city streets, this new engine features cutting-edge technical solutions, including direct-injection, intercooler, dual (intake and exhaust) continuous variable-valve timing (VVT), a camshaft with eight counterweights, and intake and exhaust systems optimized for Alfa Romeo 4C's mid-engine layout.
A new generation turbocharger features a pulse-converter exhaust manifold to exploit pressure waves and boost torque at low-engine speeds. A waste gate valve adjusts turbo pressure and improves the engine's efficiency. Advanced scavenging technology enables the Alfa Romeo 4C to maximize torque at low engine speeds and deliver more response to driver input by increasing combustion efficiency and turbine speed, all while eliminating turbo lag. As a result, torque delivery is instantaneous, with a peak of 258 ft.-lb. (350 Nm); 80 percent of which is available at only 1,700 rpm.
Teamed to the all-aluminum engine is a paddle-shifting Alfa TCT twin-clutch transmission, which has been specifically tuned for the all-new Alfa Romeo 4C. With its uniquely calibrated software that adjusts with the Alfa DNA selector system, the Alfa TCT's gearshifts are designed to become most aggressive in the Dynamic and Race modes. The Alfa TCT system also integrates a "launch control" mode -- delivering the utmost acceleration possible as soon as the driver releases the brake.

On the last week end, I had the opportunity to film the first Alfa Romeo 4C and 8C International meeting in Brescia, at the end of the Mille Miglia 2014.
The owners have gathered at MEF ( Museo Enzo Ferrari ) in Modena on saturday 17 May, and from here took the road to Varano de Melegari Circuit, on the way choosen by world rally champion Miki Biasion.
On saturday night, they celebrated the birth of the "Alfa Romeo 4C and 8C Owners Club" and on sunday they gone to Brescia for watching the Mille Miglia arrivals.
Lo scorso fine settimana, ho avuto l'opportunità di filmare il primo raduno internazionale di Alfa Romeo 4C e 8C a Brescia, alla fine della Mille Miglia 2014.
I propietari si sono riuniti al MEF ( Museo Enzo Ferrari ) di Modena sabato 17 Maggio, e da qui hanno preso la strada per il Circuito di Varano de Melegari, su un'itinerario studiato dal campione mondiale rally Miki Biasion.
Il sabato sera, è stata celebrata la nascita dell' "Alfa Romeo 4C e 8C Owners Club" e la domenica hanno raggiunto Brescia per vedere l'arrivo della Mille Miglia.
