The ADA Launches New Website: MouthHealthy.org Aims to Improve Oral Health Knowledge
Americans need a serious brush up when it comes to their oral health, according to a new survey from the American Dental Association (ADA) released today during the ADA's launch of a robust new website, MouthHealthy.org, dedicated to improving the oral health of all Americans. On average, Americans scored a "D" on a series of true or false questions ranging from how often to brush and what age should a child first visit a dentist to what causes cavities. Mouthhealthy.org, answers these and many other questions.

Give Kids A SmileĀ® (GKAS)
Give Kids A Smile® has become the world’s largest oral health charitable program and an ADA access-to-care endeavor designed to encourage parents, health professionals and policymakers to address the year-round need for oral health care for all children. Each year, dental professionals and volunteers provide free educational, preventive and restorative dental services to children from underserved families across the nation.
Give Kids A Smile is a component of the ADA's national community-based access campaign Action for Dental Health: Dentists Making a Difference. Action for Dental Health aims to reduce the numbers of adults and children with untreated dental disease through oral health
education, prevention and providing treatment now to people in need of care.

Water Fluoridation: Celebrating 65 Years of Tooth Decay Prevention
The American Dental Association endorses the fluoridation of community water supplies and the use of fluoride-containing products as safe and effective measures for preventing tooth decay. Studies show that community water fluoridation prevents at least 25 percent of tooth decay in children and adults throughout the lifespan.
Water fluoridation is the controlled adjustment of the natural fluoride concentration in a public water supply up to the level recommended for preventing tooth decay.
