C mathematical operations are a group of functions in the standard library of the C programming language implementing basic mathematical functions. All functions use floating point numbers in one manner or another. Different C standards provide different, albeit backwards-compatible, sets of functions. Most of these functions are also available in the C++ standard library, though in different headers (the C headers are included as well, but only as a deprecated compatibility feature).
Most of the mathematical functions are defined in math.h
(cmath
header in C++). The functions that operate on integers, such as abs
, labs
, div
, and ldiv
, are instead defined in the stdlib.h
header (cstdlib
header in C++).
Any functions that operate on angles use radians as the unit of angle.
Not all of these functions are available in the C89 version of the standard. For those that are, the functions accept only type double
for the floating-point arguments, leading to expensive type conversions in code that otherwise used single-precision float
values. In C99, this shortcoming was fixed by introducing new sets of functions that work on float
and long double
arguments. Those functions are identified by f
and l
suffixes respectively.
Law is a system of rules that are enforced through social institutions to govern behavior. Laws can be made by a collective legislature or by a single legislator, resulting in statutes, by the executive through decrees and regulations, or by judges through binding precedent, normally in common law jurisdictions. Private individuals can create legally binding contracts, including arbitration agreements that may elect to accept alternative arbitration to the normal court process. The formation of laws themselves may be influenced by a constitution, written or tacit, and the rights encoded therein. The law shapes politics, economics, history and society in various ways and serves as a mediator of relations between people.
A general distinction can be made between (a) civil law jurisdictions (including Catholic canon law and socialist law), in which the legislature or other central body codifies and consolidates their laws, and (b) common law systems, where judge-made precedent is accepted as binding law. Historically, religious laws played a significant role even in settling of secular matters, which is still the case in some religious communities, particularly Jewish, and some countries, particularly Islamic. Islamic Sharia law is the world's most widely used religious law.
There is an “anomaly” in the UK’s asylum system whereby people under so-called ‘humanitarian protection’ lack the same rights as refugees when it comes to accessing higher education, despite both groups fleeing persecution and similar traumas. If you've ever received a ticket, this will make you wonder why? Why is it these taxis totally ignore the posted signs that say no stopping, standing - no parking, drop off only. Not only do I see taxis ignoring these postings, I see it week after week on many streets. Taking it even further, the cabs will double park blocking 2 lanes of traffic during morning & evening rush hour. This video displays the taxis breaking the law with a police vehicle at the location. One of the taxi drivers is using his cell phone without care or concern about being told to move or receiving a ticket. Why would these drivers have such comfort as if they are above the law? As someone that has been parked on an isolated, off road, side residential street that basically would not have easy access to, I re...

In September 2013 CABS volunteers and members of the Foundation Pro Biodiversity (Stiftung Pro Artenvielfal - SPA) filmed a bird trapper who was trapping protected dotterel (Charadrius morinellus / Mornellregenpfeifer) with two huge clap net installations on Gozo (Malta). The Bird Guards team filmed a man in a blue T-shirt - probably in his late twenties - activating a clap net and setting out cages containing live decoy birds. Shortly before the arrival of the police the man received a phone call and began to deactivate the nets. As he realised that the officers had almost reached the site, he panicked and fled with the birds in their cages. His flight did not rescue him from the long arm of the Maltese law however... When the police arrived on the site they discovered four 50 m long c...
Police are using an unmarked lorry to try and improve driving standards on the county's main roads. Two officers have been trained to drive the cab section of an HGV to crack down on truckers and car drivers who use a mobile phone behind the wheel and refuse to wear seatbelts. The height of the unmarked lorry means officers have ideal vantage points looking into other trucks, cars and vans. While one officer drives the grey Mercedes Actros, the other keeps watch from the passenger seat and uses a radio to pass information to other nearby officers patrolling on bike or by car who can stop the offending drivers. The officers also deal with general policing matters and help with major operations as well as keeping watch for suspicious activity near bridges during their patrols on...

Washington, D.C. is considering a bill that would require every cab driver in the city to own a special permit called a medallion. The total number of medallions would be capped at 4,000, which would reduce the current number of cabs by more than one-third and put thousands of drivers out of business. (The city government has no idea how many licensed cabs are in the district, though estimates range from 6,500 to 10,000.) If that weren't bad enough, most drivers wouldn't have the option of buying a medallion. The first set of medallions would be offered for sale to the minority of cabbies who have been driving for at least five years and who live in Washington D.C. (Again the city government has no idea how many current drivers meet this criteria, but rising real estate prices and weak ci...

Firstly, common mic types including dynamic moving coil, dynamic ribbon and a large diaphragm condenser/capacitor. There are others, but these are the common types used for guitar amps. Secondly we look at mic position across the face of the speaker, and thirdly, mic distance away from the speaker, including a little bit on mixing ...

Brendan, Gerald and Tom are former volunteers of the Irish Republican Army. For them, and for all Irish republicans, the time of the armed struggle is now over. - But how to live in peace after thirty years of war and sacrificed life? - How then rebuild his life that under the company, it remains a criminal? - And how to accept that peace does not look like victory? Today they are drivers of "Black Taxi" Republicans in the ghettos of Belfast. Black Taxis are one of the strongest symbols of resistance. They were created at the beginning of the war, when the British government decided to suspend the bus service which served these neighborhoods. In Belfast, the buses were driven by Protestants, who refused to risk their lives in these republican areas. The people were so organized, they ...
