Major crime squad detectives have charged an elderly man after a 75-year-old woman was found dead on Monday night south of Perth.
Police and an ambulance were called to the property on Guerin Avenue in Piara Waters just before 6pm.
When they arrived they found the woman with life-threatening injuries and she died a short time later at the scene.
An 87-year-old man who is known to the woman was taken into custody.
On Tuesday, police said the 87-year-old had been charged with the woman's murder.
The man will appear at Armadale Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
