A Brief History
The first time I remember hearing about Natural Pain Relief Cream with Emu oil was around 1995. My dad, Jack McClung, was handing out natural pain relief samples in little plastic condiment containers at the breakfast after my brother’s wedding. A long-time restaurant owner, my dad had noticed that many of his customers suffered from a lack of mobility due to joint and muscle pain. During the Oklahoma State Fair, my father stepped away from his bar-b-que booth and was drawn to a display touting a stuffed Emu. Within minutes of the businesses pitch my father was fully engaged with the “miracle of Emu oil”. Always curious and friendly my dad only had one question: “If Emu Oil is so good, then why can’t I mix it with other ingredients to make them work better?” And an idea was born!
My dad began to develop his own joint and muscle cream, testing the product on his customers at the bar-b-que. He called it Emugesic Balm, and it was catching on so fast that he soon had his own store and sampling clinc in Oklahoma City. One day a customer called and told him she wanted to reorder more of that “Blue Stuff.”
He said, “Do you mean the Emugesic Balm?”
She said, “Why don’t you get rid of that fancy name and call it The Blue Stuff?”
A lightbulb went off in his head and he rebranded, creating Blue Stuff, Inc. Designed specifically for Arthritis pain relief , Blue Stuff Natural Pain Relief Cream flew off the shelves inspiring over 14 knock-off joint and muscle pain relief products by 2004.
In 2004, I bought the assets of Blue Stuff, Inc., and formed Blue Spring International, LLC. My dad was my advisor until his accidental death in 2014 at the age of 79. He lived a courageous and full life and left a rich legacy for his family, employees and customers. The Blue Spring Team has worked hard to take his creativity to the next level.
